Thank you so much! I emailed NVC 3 times already but got no reply still.. I guess last resort would reAlly be calling them. Im from the philippines and it is very costly to call international. Hubby too busy right now ?

I doubt that NVC will respond to your inquires. You would really need to call them. I am sorry to hear that your case is not a priority for your husband.

Would the NVC entertain a person to call on my behalf from the US other than my husband. He is a private nurse and cant sneak to get a phone call. Very strict boss ?

No, a third person can not call and NVC is open from 7:00 am to midnight.

Thank you onek. Just called NVC, talked to a nice lady, she said they haven't received our approved case from USCIS yet. No info in their system. She said to call back again after 6 weeks. It is contradicting with the USCIS' statement in the NOA2 stating that if there will be no contact from NVC within 30 days they should be called by us. Thats only 4 weeks ,not 6-8 weeks (2 weeks waiting and another 6 weeks to call back). What is happening with their processing. So frustrating . Plus a big yaaay coz of the holidays ? this is breaking our timeframe, gotta take NCLEX still

Just to echo and add to what onek said about NVC.... you must call them if you need to discuss anything with them. From what I've read of others' experiences here on this site - they don't really monitor email very consistently, unless they specifically ask you to send something via email (but that is a whole different conversation)...

Also, know that just because you got your NOA2 and USCIS says "case was sent to the Department of State" it varies greatly by case how long it actually takes them (USCIS) to mail your package to the NVC. Just look at our group's stats -- you'll see some people's packages get sent within a few days and others take closer to 1 month! There is really no rhyme or reason to it.

Once NVC gets your paperwork it will take them another possible 2 weeks to assign a case number to your documents. They are really backlogged at every stage it seems -- so sit tight guys -- NVC is not fast (I'm sorry to report).

If you have your NOA2 - the best thing to do is to wait 1 week, then call NVC with your USCIS case number. You will reference this case number when you call and see if they've received your package. Once they confirm they have your documents, they will tell you that they have 2 weeks to assign your NVC number -- at this point I'd recommend calling every 2-3 days to see if your NVC number has been assigned. Once your number is assigned they will email you a welcome packet and from there you can log into CEAC, pay your first invoice and fill out the DS-261 (choice of agent form).

Try using Skype. You can get a US number through Skype. The rates are very low and you'll have a number if they decided to call you back.

Sorry I took a hiatus to go visit the hubby, but I will update my google doc today.

I want to ask if anyone on the NVC side has sent the paperwork, and if so, how long until the NVC states they are received (Affidavit of support, and the support docs like passports, and marriage certs)
