Thank you for sharing the information. Do you know the reason why it's the case that out of all the countries in the world, one country's cases get expedited, but not others'? Is it officially documented by USCIS, or observations by VJ users?

First of all congrats to those who get approved :dancing: .No news for us as yet. But we did request expedited because of the Mathew hurricane in the Bahamas which was flooded with water damaged etc. They will not expedite our case and the only thing we can do is wait.

It’s sad how they can expedited other case but for some people in the Bahamas like us who may have kids or not case can’t be expedite smt.

Just some info on the nvc fees so far...

AOS fee cost $120.00

IV fee cost $325

I called them, but I also sent them an email a few days before, so I got an email replying to my inquiry about a day later. But I do not have a case number yet, just that they received the case.

Thanks! So after talking to NVC today... it looks like I'm 2 days behind you... they said my case was received on November 3. My operator suggested calling back daily or every other day to check progress and see if a case number got assigned. She said it can take up to 2 weeks to get a case number.

Regarding the observation on Philippines being auto-expedited, I personally noticed that cases auto-expedited in other service centers do not really have any particular pattern in terms of country--they expedite petitions randomly, it seems. For instance, most petitions filed from abroad in March and April were sent to California Service Center and were auto-expedited.

However, I do notice that the only other approval in this group from Nebraska is from the Philippines, too.

I admit I didn't check my online status for two weeks so I am not sure if it was actually Nebraska that approved my I-130 or if it was forwarded to another service center.

I am not sure about the other Philippines cases, but in my case I am actually from the very island where there were more 20,000 deaths from Typhoon Haiyan (the typhoon indicated on the USCIS website). The island is severely devastated and until now, the area still hasn't fully recovered and there are still thousands living in makeshift shelters. My mother has had to move to another island leaving my father in charge of what is left of our house, and my brother has had to move to another country to go on making a living. With all this going on, I am very thankful for the auto-expedite in my petition as I honestly cannot go back home and re-establish a decent living there.

I only speak for myself here as I am not aware of others' situations. I will be updating this thread as often as I can as I go through the rest of the process. Fingers crossed for more approvals from Nebraska!

We finally receive our NOA 1 on by regular mail, we though that since we are living abroad and we filled the g-1145, there was not going to be anything coming through regular mail. Happy anyway!!!
