Just an update....

Paid AOS fee at the weekend, that is now showing as paid today, woke up this morning with an email from nvc with instructions to pay the IV fee, my hubby will do that today, and to now send in the paperwork package, things are moving along nicely, i know a lot of you are desperate for nvc to move along quicker, but they are getting things done and so far we are fairly happy with their progress, they have a lot of cases to deal with each day and i for one give them a thumbs up for all their hard work in getting me closer to being back with my hubby and son and for us to be a family once again!

aidensbubba you are the leader!! thanks for keeping us all informed of your progress :luv:

Hey guys - hope everyone is well wherever you are in the world! :)

I wanted to pass along something I just realized about the USCIS Case Tracker app --- in case it's happening to someone else. Somehow mine got frozen even though I was hitting the "refresh" button.

I just happened to randomly tap "View Online" at the bottom of the app - which immediately took me to the USCIS page and my case. At that point, I saw a new status from October 27 "case was sent to The Department of State" where before it just said that my "case was approved." I have been checking the app daily but somehow I didn't get this notice from October 27 -- until today, November 4.

Some of you may be interested to know that my case was approved on October 13 and my NOA2 hardcopy was received around October 17, however the Texas Service Center didn't officially send my case to the NVC until October 27. So like aidensbubba (who waited a whole month!), my case waited 2 weeks to be transferred to NVC. Interestingly, the NOA2 hard copy just generically says that they've sent your case to the NVC and doesn't specify a date.

For those that are still waiting for the hard copy NOA2 and are curious about the full text of the letter, this is what mine said:

"The above petition has been approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC) 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909. NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action. It also determines which consular post is the appropriate consulate to complete visa processing. NVC will then forward the approved petition to that consulate.

The NVC will contact the person for whom you are petitioning (beneficiary) concerning future immigrant visa processing steps.

You should allow a minimum of 30 days for Department of State processing before contacting the NVC. If you have not received any correspondence from the NVC within 30 days, you may contact the NVC by e-mail at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. You will need to enter the USCIS receipt number from this approval notice in the subject line. In order to receive information about your petition, you will need to include the Petitioner's name and date of birth, and the Applicant's name and date of birth, in the body of the e-mail.

The approval of this visa petition does not in itself grant any immigration status and does not guarantee that the alien beneficiary will subsequently be found to be eligible for a visa, for admission to the United States, or for an extension, change, or adjustment of status.

THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways, I have been swamped with work this week - but will be calling NVC Monday to check on my case and see if its arrived/received a number yet. I will keep you all posted!

** SO ** moral of the story is, check your case online (either independent of, or through the smartphone app) in case it has frozen and you don't realize it!

I was wondering about the timeline feature on this site. Our case was sent to the Nevada Service Center and when I entered the info into my timeline on this site it says "Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between March 1, 2017 and March 11, 2017"

Is this the time that is estimated that I'll "adjudicated" at the Service Center and sent to the NVC? Or, is this the time that is estimated that our case will be adjudicated by the NVC? I know these are estimates but I'm just curious.

As happy as I am to see other folks who filed in September getting their NOA2s...we are still waiting...

I think you mean the Nebraska Service Center.

They are currently taking a little over 6 months to adjudicate petitions so that March dates are when your case is likely to be finished at Nebraska and ready to go to the NVC for the next stage. You will need to allow about a year for the whole process. Have a look at my timeline. We were sent to Nebraska and it took 5 months 13 days for our petition to be approved (no RFEs). We started in February and my interview is in December, 10 months and 1 day from sending the petition to having my interview.

Keep the faith. It's a long journey but it's definitely worth it.

Timeline in brief:

The NOA1 hard copy doesn't really say much apart from that they've received your application and which service center you have/your priority date.

In my humble and non-official opinion, I wouldn't stress about not receiving your NOA1 hard copy as long as you have your case number and when you check online it says everything is up-to-date and ok.

Side note, the NOA1 is not printed on paper that is as nice or "official" looking as the NOA2.... no idea why.

Thanks for this misshepburn! We talked to someone at USCIS and they said the same thing. We are unable to change our address because we live abroad, so we won't be receiving the NOA2 either. Should I worry about this? I'm thinking it won't matter and that everything will be in the email.

Thanks again! September filers are the best!
