• As people are progressing, added more columns to track their cases. A few users have expressed that they would like to have the case progress tracked in this group.

• Removed Sent Date to prevent the list from becoming too wide to fit on one screen depending on the resolution of the monitor. In addition, Sent date doesn't really matter. What matters is when it was delivered to USCIS depending on where it was mailed from and what shipping method was used.

Removed azeemguy for being inactive and not providing any updates.

Removed Journeyvisa2016 as the case is a non I-130 case.

Received my NOA2 hard copy in the mail today after receiving the sms texts and the update on the USCIS website exactly 1 week ago.

When should I start bugging NVC on my case number? Can I do it now or should I wait another week?

Same may already know this, but those who don't know when their NVC case number was assigned, there's an easy way to find out that simply involves looking at your case number. The first three letters are the three-letter consulate/embassy code. The next four numbers are the year the case number was assigned. The next three numbers are the Julian date it was assigned, plus 500. And finally, the last three numbers are the sequential order of when it was assigned that date. Congratulations on the case progress. When did they forward the case to NVC? You should start calling a week after they sent to NVC.

Per VJer, Saylin's NVC Process post on vjWiki: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

"it's best to call about once a week after your NOA2 to see if NVC has received your case. Once they do have your case and about 2-3 weeks have passed since then, increase your calls to about 2-3 times a week (or even more if you wish) until you get a case number assigned.

• Note: if your case doesn't arrive at NVC in a timely manner (timely manner being the current wait time), VJ member tokinaija suggests: "Call USCIS, and specifically request to be connected to a Tier 2 supervisor (bypassing the contract customer reps). When connected to a Tier 2 representative, request that you want confirmation that your approved case has been physically shipped to NVC. In amenable words, request for the specific date that the package was shipped. If you are lucky, you will get someone who would take the time to confirm this for you."

Since it's been a little over a week, perhaps you would want to give NVC a call and see if you can obtain your case number.

In most cases, USCIS immediately forward the case upon approval (NOA2) to the NVC. In other cases, it can be later. For example, in our group, aidensbubba is the only one that I know of, whose case was forwarded to NVC about a month later after they got approved. Others were notified immediately that their cases were forwarded to NVC with their NOA2 notice.

You can find out by checking your USCIS status online where it would say if your case was forwarded to NVC or it should be on your NOA2 notice. One of the people who got NOA2 can confirm this.

Hi Everyone!

When I received my NOA1 I noticed that my husband's name was misspelled. I immediately contacted USCIS and issued a request to have it corrected. A few weeks later I received a letter in the mail saying that the request had been forwarded to my case and it would be resolved once my case was assigned to an officer. This was after having called USCIS multiple times to inquire about the update in an effort to reduce any further mistakes that could add to the wait time. This was a mistake on USCIS's end by the way. My husband's name is spelled correctly at least fifty times in the application that I sent in.

This past week I called USCIS again and asked to speak to a tier 2 supervisor and she issued another request for me but also indicated that my case is currently at the Vermont service center when my NOA1 said it was sent to Nebraska. After questioning her about this change, she said that cases are sometimes sent to other service centers for preliminary screening purposes. It all seemed kind of strange to me. She said that the Nebraska service center owns my case but that it is physically at the Vermont service center as of right now. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Also, I was never informed that my case was being transferred or anything. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Paid AOS fee at the weekend, that is now showing as paid today, woke up this morning with an email from nvc with instructions to pay the IV fee, my hubby will do that today, and to now send in the paperwork package, things are moving along nicely, i know a lot of you are desperate for nvc to move along quicker, but they are getting things done and so far we are fairly happy with their progress, they have a lot of cases to deal with each day and i for one give them a thumbs up for all their hard work in getting me closer to being back with my hubby and son and for us to be a family once again!
