Hey Onek,

Great catch!! I don't think I'm signed up for the app, but just checking the website now, yes mine too has changed from Petition for Relative, Fiance, Orphan, to just relative. Not sure what to make of it.

I see. Looks like they have simply updated their system with a different message today for everyone.

While any type of update always raised my hopes (probably foolishly), I think the real explanation is far more mundane -- I read somewhere that the USCIS website was undergoing some sort of maintenance last week. I wonder if this is simply due to some tinkering in the background.

Just checked my online status/app.... Mine, states the above also...

Wonder what the changes is all about?

I don't think the update has any impact on the case. They simple changed the wordings of the notice.

It appears that they have realized that "Finance(E), Orphan" would still be considered "Relative" and no longer need to add those words. Additionally, they replaced, "Immigrant" with "Alien". Perhaps better words in their dictionary. :)

Someone else want to take a guess?

Only difference between the two is that first notification was "Form I-13- Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), Orphan" vs new update today "Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative".

So maybe one of the lucky people having reached NOA2 already could share with us what it's going to say in there? Just curious :)

And was it sent as a paper notice to the petitioner like the NOA1?

Yes, NOA2 is also sent as a paper copy. In fact, several people have mentioned that they did not receive any text message alert or email notification regarding that NOA2 despite the fact that they registered on USCIS website for case alerts via email and text messages.

aidensbubba is ahead of everyone in this group and it took USCIS one month from getting NOA2 to forward her case to NVC.

I got my hardcopy yesterday, it looks a bit more official than the NOA1 (On greenish paper instead of white) but really nothing much. It tells you how to contact the NVC and that they still can wave the right to deny you at any time. But it is nice to have it in hand!

Met in a magical castle in Poland through our mutual love for Harry Potter. Now can not wait to spend our lives together!

I don't think the update has any impact on the case. They simple changed the wordings of the notice.

It appears that they have realized that "Finance(E), Orphan" would still be considered "Relative" and no longer need to add those words. Additionally, they replaced, "Immigrant" with "Alien". Perhaps better words in their dictionary. :)

Someone else want to take a guess?

This is probably entirely it.

Also, the folks at USCIS just enjoying playing with our heart strings? :unsure:
