We made a mistake in our submittal. Based on USCIS data it was the most common error. An improperly signed I-130. We received no email or notification with respect to our error. The first notification was the return of our package via International to Argentina. Our returned package was received September 11 at our Argentina address. We were warned by USCIS that all communications with us should be delivered via email. We were never notified with respect to our rejection via email.

This failed communication with us is especially difficult because we live in a very remote region in Argentina and mailing failures happen frequently. We use a mail forwarder to solve the mail delivery problem but most government agencies, including USCIS, require our physical address.

We resubmitted our i-130 Package on September 28, 2016 and our package arrived at USCIS on October 3, 2016.

That sounds like a terrible experience. Hope you get the NOA1 soon!

Can anyone please answer my question, I cant get a certain answer for it anywhere. Will changing mailing address on the USCIS website will cause problems? I want to receive hard copy of my NOA1 and want to indicate a US address for it . I'm pretty sure they won't send it all the way here to Georgia. Anyone had the same problem?

So awesome!!! I hope we can all get through as fast as you guys did!

It should take them a couple of weeks to transfer your case to the NVC. Its on you to call them to get your case number in a few weeks if you want to keep things moving as fast as possible. From what I've read on here, you can get through the NVC in 4-6 weeks (or faster) if you're prepared, complete everything without mistakes, have a little luck, and you follow the VJ guides.

You can change your address, it won't cause problems. They are unlikely to mail you an NOA1 to Georgia anyways. You have to go through the proper channels on the USCIS website. Did you create a profile with them? That is the first step. Once you've created a profile, you can add your case number, and then change your address while logged in.

I have not had to do it, but it seems fairly straightforward on their (USCIS) website. They seem to prefer online to mailing in a paper form. Hope this helps you.
