It's the waiting game so, again, I have weird questions for you all. For a USC filing I-130 for their spouse, is the classification you're all seeing on your NOA1 "201B INA"? Juuust curious.. :P I tried Googling but the first thing was an immigration forum in which someone said that was the wrong classification, so decided to turn to my trusty September family before getting nervous.

EDIT: VJ-ed it. Found this response: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/288717-what-does-preference-classification-201-b-ina-spouse-of-usc-mean/. Clearest answer came from someone whose signature says "This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this." Eep!

Hello September filers

For those of you who may know or may not know I am from the Bahamas so am asking you all to PLEASE pray for my us as we go through this hurricane Matthew.

Thank you!

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, nyokie.

201B is just the category of the petition you filed.

§201(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ("INA") defines "immediate relatives" to include:

  1. spouses,
  2. minor children (under the age of twenty-one), and
  3. parents of U.S. citizens (if the citizens are at least 21 years old).

This category is clearly reserved for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens, not permanent residents. There is no limit to the number of immediate relative visas that may be issued in this category in any given year.
