Hi everyone,

My interview was scheduled on September 11th, and i cried years of joy when the officer told me i was approved. Everyone was incredible in the waiting room and the experience, all though nerve wrecking, was not so bad at all. My husband and i drive down to new York State on Tuesday September 26th, and i can't say how much this website has helped me be able to achieve this.

Best of luck to the rest of you and I'll talk to any of you that had to apply for adjustment of status.

Hello guys, here is my story..in need of some advice. My dad filled i-130 on april 18th. I got an rfe on 27th September asking for evidence of Father-child. Here is the situation. My dad never married my mum, he married someone else but he has been supportive financially.. Paid for all my tution fee all the way up to campus. Something else is, his name was never included in my birth cert. Infact.. My mum raised me by herself so.. No one else's name was written as my father. I need massive ideas how we can handle this. I'd really appreciate all your contributions coz I so much want an approval on my i-130.

Thanks

Hello!! I know this process is SUPER frustrating!! They're unorganized and just plain slow. So, sometimes the online status doesn't change. Don't ask me why. What you need to do is call the NVC to confirm that they have received your case from USCIS. I would recommend calling them right when they open, which is 8:00 a.m. eastern time. Their number is 603-334-0700. Once they tell you they've received your case you should be expecting a welcome email from them. Make sure they have your email on file to send it to you. That will give you a case number and invoice number which you'll need to sign into ceac.state.gov to pay your fees and fill out your DS-260, etc. Feel free to message me if you have questions or need help.

Also, please go into your profile and update your timeline. It really helps others going through the process and those trying to help you :)

There are 2 fees. One is $120 and the other is $325. Also, no I have never heard of them saying it can take USCIS 90 days to send the file to NVC. That's ridiculous.

Did you try calling NVC again today? If you look at my signature, you can see the date of approval on my letter was May 6th, 2017. NVC received our case May 23rd, 2017. So it only took 17 days from approval date to NVC receipt. If your approval date was September 20th, then it is possible that NVC hasn't received it yet since it has only been 15 days.

I received my welcome email from NVC 2 weeks exactly after they received our case on 6/6/2017.

Here's an example of the cover sheet they'll send you so you  can begin to prepare your documents. Also, go to https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html

and put in your country info to pull up your consulate info. It'll tell you the documents you need and what versions.
