Hello and thanks for starting this! I just filed for my husband from overseas (currently in his home country of Ethiopia) and got my first NOA yesterday. We sent the application to the Chicago lockbox. Now the waiting game begins...

Thank you for app information and working on the guide. It will definitely answer a lot of questions that people ask regarding next steps. Could you please share the app name for the benefit of everyone?

The app that I downloaded is the USCIS Case Tracker by Stephen Aldous - its free and the first one that comes up in the app store.

Added a new column "Day1" to track number of business days it took to receive the NOA1 in the mail from the day it was delivered to USCIS.. Also calculating Day2 as business days as weekends and holidays may vary on each case to get more accurate count.

LOL, kellyh, you are already ahead of most of us. You have gotten all the updates you could have gotten during this time frame. Check USCIS website to get an estimated time for your service center.

Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It

On September 29, 2016, the Post Office returned a notice we sent you for your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXX, because they could not deliver it. This could have a serious effect on your case. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice immediately. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

So, since we filed from ABROAD, was that likely to happen? I wonder where the heck they even sent the notice to, since I thought they don't deliver anywhere outside of the US. We did provide a US address on the bottom of the cover letter where my USC husband's parents live, but I have no idea if they sent the notice there (I am hoping it's just the NOA1 notice, but could also be an RFE...?) Anyway. SO I go to the e-request page to request a copy of the notice to the US address and after filling out the form, it gives me an ERROR:

The following error(s) need to be corrected:

• Do not submit a request if you have just recently been approved, allow approximately 30 days to receive your new notice.

SO I AM STUCK and can't sent it.... since we filed 2 weeks ago only. help!

Since it's not your address, are you sure that your parents in law's address that you entered on your packet is correct address? You may want to double-check the address and then call USCIS with correct address.

@heyusa ... Sorry to hear this ... so frustrating!

I second onek here -- first make sure the US address that you provided for your parents-in-law was their correct address. Second, contact your in-laws to see if they received anything (if you haven't already), which is unlikely. Third, CALL USCIS... they should be able to tell you what address the notice was mailed to and help you resolve this fast.
