Well, so much for doubting myself and having to go through all these documents over a dozen times..

Even after submitting, I have to go back and check again and so... I just realized I forgot to add the Document Cover Sheet that came in the welcome email lol

Sigh...

YES! It was apparently approved 5/6/17 according to the date on the letter and I called on 5/9/17 and they didn't tell me I was approved! This just further goes to show that they are robots who are only regurgitating what the online system says. So, even if you're approved apparently and your account hasn't been updated then they know nothing. So, so sad.

So I am still waiting for an approval, so I called yesterday and they first tried to give me the ####### that according to the website they are still processing August 30th.  I told her that I saw that as well but that was as of the 28th of February, are you telling me they have not advanced even one day in 2 1/2 months.  She tried to tell me yes.  Well after fighting with her to get me escalated, she finally allowed me to talk to an agent.

 

The agent took the time and checked my case.  She said that I have not been processed at all.  She said that I have been put in the section for background investigation.  She could not give me any timeline associated to it.  There are multiple reasons why background investigations occur including previous marriages to foreigners, country from which the marriage occurred, etc.  So the good news for us was that we know that they have everything, the bad news is, we do not have a clue how much longer it is going to be.  Looks like I am going to be making more trips to my second home than originally planned.

 

This information may help some of the others that feel like they are in limbo.

At least you received an answer, my tier 2 yesterday was so rude and hung up the phone. I can't with this any more

I asked for scan date and CC date, but she was unable to provide it. SO..... How would I go about in filling out the form & tracker??

 

Apparently the missing document checklist sheet I forgot to include is not required when I send in documents via email (at least that's what she said) ! YAY!!!

Congrats . According to your timeline, nvc moved really fast. 

We just sent docts via email to nvc on monday and yesterday we got a new case number already. One problem is that we are not sure whether the number was given due to our lawyer's requirement or our case recieved. (our lawyer required a case number a few weeks ago) . we wish to have our case completed soon.

Thanks! agreed, recently several timelines that I've come across shows that NVC is reviewing and approving cases quite quickly. Way before the 11 wk timeline.

Hey all, sorry have been on vacation and out of the loop!  We are working on our NVC package now, (FYI for those of you who recently got approved, the next steps go really fast!).  My in-laws are working on getting their finance documents ready as my joint sponsor.  

 

On the NVC checklist they send you, it says evidence of income as a requirement.  Do I need to get my in-laws to submit this?  They are submitting their tax forms, IRS transcripts, etc.  Is that enough?
