Did any of you need to file a joint sponsorship? Is it really that difficult or would we be able to tel our lawyer to stick it where the sun doesn't shine and do it ourselves?

I paid our lawyer $3750 to do everything. I didn't realize they charged per item? I guess it depends on the lawyer.

You need to send either (1) 1040 Form (+ all relevant schedules) + W2 Form or (2) an IRS tax transcript.

 

If it's available I'd send the IRS tax transcript, it's very compact (usu. just 1-2 pages) and in my opinion seems more legitimate (i.e., the IRS has accepted these numbers!).

That's a bit pricey. The one we were going to get originally was charging $3,200 for everything but we found an immigration lawyer on avvo.com with stellar reviews who only charged $1800 and allowed installments! He is super prompt with his responses and I've been pretty happy up until now. Don't think I'd recommend him to anyone now after his last stunt.

 

Of course had we known visajourney.com existed we would never have even bothered!

 

What a journey this thread has been....from the shared joys of the original poster's interview and approval, to the looong drawn out wait in the USCIS process for most of us...to the joys of finally getting those USCIS  accepted letters in March...

keep the faith everyone. Keep calling, keep informing yourselves of the process and when necessary keep waiting.

We will ALL get through this!!!!

Still no NO2 since September 8. When we called they said we are in normal processing time since in their website it says they are evaluating August 30 cases. I gave up and decided not to continue to the process. Probably this is not gonna be good for my marriage. For those of you waiting for approval, good luck. Thank you for your support all this time.

I'm so sorry and I know it's difficult. I'm waiting for my NOA2 as well. It gets harder and harder every day, especially seeing so many others so much further along in the process. You're so close though. I really feel when they update the site again they'll be to your date and mine. Don't lose hope. You're almost there.

My PD is Sept 16 PCs and I am still waiting, don’t give up I know this is a pain in the A** . I am so tired of waiting, sometimes I just feel like giving up. Every time I feel that way I always remind myself I am closer but yet it’s still a long process, don’t give up because you will need it later so you might as well deal with it while you’re half way done

Yes! I'm still glad I got a lawyer though. I've heard too many horror stories of things being filled out incorrectly and sent back multiple times causing major delays. I can barely cope with the "standard processing time" without any delays. I can't imagine if something I did incorrectly in the filing process caused it to be delayed even more! 

 

This process has probably been one of the most difficult things I've ever done. I miss my husband so much every day and we're both so tired and worn out from being apart. It's stressful to try to maintain a long distance relationship, but I know it will be worth in the end when we're together. It's been 7 months and 4 days for me with no answer yet. I check the mail every day and I'm always hopeful, but nothing arrives. I pray a lot and try not to be discouraged. Good luck to everyone and to those who haven't received your NOA2.....we can do this together. The approval WILL arrive eventually.
