Call and ask a supervisor. If they are not available, ask them to call you when they have one available. They will call you and said what you receive, rectify addresss and that they sent the package to NVC. What they have not sent is the Noa2 (via mail) but you are approved (for what i understand)

Its been almost 200 days and I am still waiting for approval. Here is the response which i got from Senator when they contacted USCIS

""USCIS records confirms that the case is in pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating these cases in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of cases have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed""

I read somehwere in VJ that it can take upto several months just to complete this background check. We are totally devastated to hear this news after waiting already for such a long time. If anybody has gone through similar experience, How long does it took to clear such background check? please share. It would be really helpful!!!

I'm sooooo irritated. I've been waiting in the hellhole that is Nebraska and then was transferred to Texas. I got five (!!!) email notifications saying this:

On April 20, 2017, the Post Office returned a notice we sent you for your Form I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE, Receipt Number ________, because they could not deliver it. This could have a serious effect on your case. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice immediately.

It says nothing else. I have tried calling and the representative on the phone only reads me the same thing I have in my email (smh) The online system says the same thing. The automated phone system says the same thing.

Also, unable to be delivered??? Why? I updated my address months ago and it was confirmed and everything and there is no problem with my mail. And what is the notice? I'm guessing it's not an approval or else it would just say approved in the status, right? Now I'm waiting for a tier 2 representative to call me back which will only take 150 hours. No lie. 150 hours!!!!

Oh Rahill I'm sorry -- keep the faith!

So...after getting a totally vague status update via email saying that a notice was returned to them as undeliverable....I called to talk to a tier 2 service rep who knows absolutely nothing. He doesn't know what the notice is, says he does not see an approval in my file. Then...I got another status update that says this:

"Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On April 20, 2017, we mailed your document for Receipt Number ******, directly to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your document by May 20, 2017, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request the document be sent to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application."

What on earth does that mean???? The Tier 2 rep put in a service request to the service center in Texas to ask what it all means because obviously he doesn't know. He claims that I'll get an answer on May 3rd. I am not holding my breath. I don't think anyone who I can actually personally talk to has any clue what is going on and I'm so frustrated with this. Feeling pretty hopeless....

This is very truly bizarre. This status update indicates for whatever reason that USCIS thinks there is some card / document which is being produced for your case and that this card / document is now being produced and mailed to you. Common situations for this status are if you were applying for an adjustment of status, you can apply for early work authorization or advanced parole, while you wait for your I-130 application to be approved. In this case USCIS would send you an EAD or AP card. However, this does not appear to be your case (you're spouse is residing abroad yes), so this likely indicates some kind of monumental screw-up on their part. I hope you're able to get to the bottom of this!

Indeed! I wish I had more confidence that 1) anyone will even get back to me and 2) that when they do, they will even know what is going on. I understand this is a long process but it would make the waiting so much easier to stomach if there was some sense that someone, somewhere knows what the heck is going on with the case...

This is a question for all the recent approvals who did not get notified electronically but only received the hardcopy NOA2. I'm just curious, did your case status eventually get updated saying that your case was transferred to the NVC? And, if so, how long did it take?

We were approved on 04/07, we didn't receive any notifications other than the NOA2 in the mail. Our status online was still 'case was received'.

On 04/17, we received a text message and email saying our case was 'sent to the department of state', the online status and app also updated.
