Does anyone happen to have their transfer notice handy? I just noticed that there are some discrepancies between my original receipt notice and the transfer notice. My original receipt notice says my receipt date is 9/23 and that my priority date is 9/23. The transfer notice says my receipt date is 9/27 and the priority date is completely blank. Anyone else notice any differences?

Mine is similar, but with the receipt date as 9/26.

With all the consistencies, I'd wager that our petitions are in the same pile.

You're probably right. I'm just going over everything to give me a reason to call USCIS and talk to a Tier 2 lol. Waiting for their call now. When you call and talk to the customer service reps they literally have NO idea what's going on. Their phone system still says the current status of my case is that it was transferred to Nebraska when my letter actually says it was transferred to Texas. Have you called their 1800 number and put in your case # to see if it says that as well? Maybe there's some weird problem. I think I'm just paranoid at this point. I'm all out of patience.

Yep, I have the same problem. I've been told not to worry, that the electronic system has issues. (How is that supposed to make me not worry?)

THANK YOU! I asked her, should I go by the letter or the phone system? Why don't they match? She's like oh I'd definitely go by the letter! Oh, ok...perfect.

Their online/phone systems is notoriously unreliable. Just to give you my story, I received my NOA2 via postal mail; both my online status and phone status was unchanged. I got a bit worried, and called USCIS customer service who then transferred me to Tier2 service. He notified me to ignore the online and phone systems; all that matters officially is your paper copy which was mailed to you. He told me that the online system often has hiccups and can be unreliable. The paper is all that matters!

About 2.5 weeks later my status online finally changed to "Mailed to the NVC". It never even said it was accepted.

Stuck in Nebraska since September 8th. No news no update nothing. Its been more than 7 months. Never imagined it'd be that long. I'm about to give up:(

@GBD Hang in there!! Have you tried contacting congressman/Senator or ombudsman? You are outside normal processing times which means you have these options...

It has been forever. We paid for a lawyer thinking that would be the best route and that they'd help make sure all the paperwork was correct the first go round. They originally told it would be about 5 months and now we are quickly approaching 7. It's very disheartening. I know everyone is in the same boat, but it's hard for me not to be jealous seeing the timelines of others and how they were received the same day, transferred to Texas from Nebraska the same day and they have an answer and we don't. I'm happy for everyone who is on to the next step in the process. I know it's case by case, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.

@cleon86 Stay strong!! I know it sucks waiting, but you're doing everything right...

I got NOA 2 few days before. NOA 2 notice date is March 31, 2017.

But there is nothing on online USCIS case status. I called USCIS this morning. They tried to transfer me to different department. But they couldn't. Because other department is too busy, can't accept transfer call. I tired to contact USCIS to when they sent my file to NVC. I called NVC too. They haven't received yet. They told me to wait till 6 Weeks. Any advice on this?

@Iffat Nizu Transfers are not immediate -- you will need to wait a few weeks for USCIS to send the file to NVC and then possibly another 2 weeks once NVC receives it to get an NVC number assigned. In the meantime you can prep all the documents you will need to submit to NVC (if you haven't already).

For those of you who have done the interview, does the USC have to be present?

@branjo - No. It varies by country, but generally people on VJ will say that it's better if the USC can be present. Some countries with higher rates of fraud it's imperative that the USC be present. Since it looks like you're in Canada - you should be ok with or without your spouse.

Hi September crew -- Happy belated Easter to those celebrating!

I've been slammed with work, but wanted to give the group a quick update. My husband got his passport with his visa inside several weeks ago (issued March 22).

He arrives this Friday - April 21st!! POE will be Philadelphia - I'm hoping he has a smooth experience coming in as an immigrant there. I will let you all know how it goes.

For those still waiting -- hang in there! You will make it - lot's of September and October people are getting approved now - even the transfers!

I'm sooooo irritated. I've been waiting in the hellhole that is Nebraska and then was transferred to Texas. I got five (!!!) email notifications saying this:

On April 20, 2017, the Post Office returned a notice we sent you for your Form I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE, Receipt Number ________, because they could not deliver it. This could have a serious effect on your case. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice immediately.

It says nothing else. I have tried calling and the representative on the phone only reads me the same thing I have in my email (smh) The online system says the same thing. The automated phone system says the same thing.

Also, unable to be delivered??? Why? I updated my address months ago and it was confirmed and everything and there is no problem with my mail. And what is the notice? I'm guessing it's not an approval or else it would just say approved in the status, right? Now I'm waiting for a tier 2 representative to call me back which will only take 150 hours. No lie. 150 hours!!!!

Rahill! That happened to me...we call and asked supervisor... they calles back and said the post office returned the physical notification. We rectify the address to see it was corrected and it was, they will send it once again. We asked if they sent package to NVC and they did, and that is the important. Do not worry!

They're probably still entering your case into the system.  Give it a day or two and it should be fine :)

Hi everyone! Just an update.... on 4/18/2017 I was able to fill out the ds261 4 days after obtaining case number. But, I was not able to make the Aos payment until this morning (2 days later after DS261). I call NVC to have the DS261 review over the phone and to my surprise it was reviewed this morning. Therefore, the representative stated that I should be receiving the invoice fee for the IV in about a week. Hope is true. Hopefully by tomorrow I will send the package.

Just the fact that your PD and mine are around the same and mine was transferred from Nebraska to Texas too and you at least heard something even if it was returned makes me SO hopeful right now. I hope you get it all situated!! Don't worry, the Tier 2 will call you in a couple of hours and you'll get it sorted out!! I hope it's an approval!

Call and ask a supervisor. If they are not available, ask them to call you when they have one available. They will call you and said what you receive, rectify addresss and that they sent the package to NVC. What they have not sent is the Noa2 (via mail) but you are approved (for what i understand)
