I suspect it's probably because it's the weekend. Wait till Monday or Tuesday and I'm sure it will become available

Thanks . We try to be patient. Did you get your welcome letter?

Yes, I received that last week.  We paid the IV fee Saturday US time and it's still saying in progress.  Hopefully in a couple of days that will be processed.

They just got this at NVC today. I would say try first thing Monday morning. Not sure if they work tomorrow. Good Friday, but you should be able to obtain your case number hopefully sometime next week. You will have to call them. Good luck!

They work because is not federal holiday... is only for certain states and Nebraska is not one of them

Hey everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I had a question maybe you guys could answer, or let me know if you are experiencing the same. I filed on September 8th and got my NOA shortly after. Aside from getting a letter informing me that I do not need to complete a biometric appointment (they already had one on file), I have heard nothing. I can't even check on the processing times because it's apparently still with the MSC? The frustrating thing is I called immigration and they said that the local office should have it and that they are not meeting their expected processing time on it, and then I went in for an infopass and they told me that the MSC still has it and has not given it to them. Anyone have any insight they can provide?

This should answer everything above:

http://blogs.hrblock.com/2014/07/02/spouse-is-a-non-citizen-which-filing-status-do-we-use/

I opted for married filing separately to save the paperwork hassle and will probably amend next year when he gets a ssn.

@JessieABC Thank you!! Finally did filing separately (without claiming spouse as an exemption). By doing so tax return was considerably low. What do u mean by "probably amend next year when he gets a ssn". Is there a possibility to get some returns which we were supposed to get next year?

Yes, you have three years to amend taxes but keep in mind that you should calculate first to check if filing jointly would be beneficial.
