Stuck in Nebraska since September 8th. No news no update nothing. Its been more than 7 months. Never imagined it'd be that long. I'm about to give up:(

I applied for my parents on 6th September, 2017. There wasn't any update. But they have approved these cases on March 31, 2017. I got NOA2 notices on mail couple days back. What i think, if Nebraska Service Center doesn't transfer your case to different Service Center, that means you won't get any update through online, email or sms. You will just get NOA 2 through. You might get approval notice anytime soon. Best of Luck :)

I got NOA 2 few days before. NOA 2 notice date is March 31, 2017.

But there is nothing on online USCIS case status. I called USCIS this morning. They tried to transfer me to different department. But they couldn't. Because other department is too busy, can't accept transfer call. I tired to contact USCIS to when they sent my file to NVC. I called NVC too. They haven't received yet. They told me to wait till 6 Weeks. Any advice on this?

Our NOA2 was dated March 30, 2017.

I called NVC on Apr 6 and they said it was rec'd on April 1st, although not yet input into the system and that it may take 2-3 wks.

Called in again the next day, and was provided with Case #, however no IIN yet until today.

Like @Ulrica&Jesse said, call in everyday or every other day and check on status.

Chances are, they probably received it, but not yet entered into any system so they can't see it, therefore, best they say it will take up to 6 wks.

No I sent my petition Sept 12th 2016. Just today i got the update saying that my case is transferred to local office? My wife is not even in US. So wondering if the case was transferred what would they be interviewing me?

Petitions are sometimes transferred to the local office. From what I've read and gleaned on VisaJourney, this USUALLY happens for two reasons:

  1. The original service center is simply too busy and they decided to send it to a local office instead of another service center. You won't be interviewed and your application will be accepted or receive an RFE. It's hard to predict or estimate a timeline.
  2. Occasionally, USCIS wishes to interview the petitioner to further verify if your marriage is bonafide. Is your wife the petitioner (i.e., the US citizen or resident)? Does she currently live outside the country? If this is the case, then this is a strange development. If you're the petitioner, then it's you they will want to interview. Just keep a look out for a notice and go in when they ask you to do so.

Good luck!

I am a petitioner, i petitioned as Green card holder and later become USC. I upgraded the petitions to immediate relative of USC about a month and half ago. Now they updated to day saying that the case is transferred to local office. I will be talking to USCIS second level officer tomorrow to find out more about this.

So I was approved on 3/23/17, received my letter on 3/28/17. Received an email on 4/4/17 and updated info on Uscis that my case was sent to the state. I called today 4/11/17 and received my case number and invoice #. When I tried to log on it said " this case is in the process of termination"I called NVC and they told me to ignore that and wait 3-5 days before trying to log on. They're currently working on my file!!! :)
