Question when u request an expedite how do you know its approved an how would it normally take?

So, after calling NVC every single day for a week, today they finally told me that they received my case. So it took exactly a week, which is pretty decent timing, I expected it would take way longer, especially with their ''six week'' estimate  Anyways, not she told me to call them back in two weeks , but I really think my case number should be available at least by the end of next week

I called in yesterday, they informed that my case was received but not yet input into the system. The gentlemen did not provide a case # to me, he told me it would take 2-3 weeks.

For the heck of it, I tried calling again this morning, after 15 mins wait, lovely lady I spoke to provided me with my case number.

You should try calling again on Monday.

Congrats!!  Call back at the end of every day .  Took only 2 business days for mine to be assigned.  If you get a really nice rep, you can log in, speed complete your DS-261 and ask them to review on the same call lol

That is a really good idea! I will totally try doing that if the rep isn't too rude

Also wanted to ask - Can you tell me if I can pay both AOS and IV fees online at once? Or is there any wait between those two payments? And also, how long does it take after paying NVC fees and sending off both packages by post?

AOS fees and IV Fees are separate.

IV Fee unlock starts when they review your DS 261, regardless of AOS Fee.

 

Since AOS Fee unlocks first, pay asap and get your DS 261 reviewed.  Takes about 3-5 days for the AOS Fee to process and show up as paid.  Once it does, if your IV is unlocked, you would then be able to pay immediately.  Waiting for DS 261 to be reviewed can take weeks so this shaves off all of the time inbetween.

 

After paying fees, you should complete the DS 260 and you can send off the files whenever you're ready.

Did you get a "case was sent to department of state" update too? My case was approved 3 days after yours, hence the question...

Yes, I got sms & email notification that USCIS updated my status to "Case sent to Department of State"

(8 days after notification received about "Case Approved".

 

I would suggest you calling NVC and ask if they received your case, mine was received on April 1st (2 days after notification). 

If yes, (and if they're still on the line with you) also ask for case number if available. Chances are they might say that it's received but not yet input into the system, and that it will take 2-3 weeks. If they don't give you a case number, call again!
