I've heard the same from a friend who is already living in the states, but spent a week in Spain last month for her kids to vist friends, etc.

Her husband who is Italian had to make several visits on ESTA. After some time there, an attorney in NYC told them WHAT??? you could applied for a change of status!!

You should call them.  My PD is 9/16 and i got NOA2 12/19 and i sent my docs to NVC 2/13, so now im just waiting for there response for interview.  You need to call NVC so they can help you speed up your case because you are overdue.

Thanks Onek!  Now the 5-6+ month NVC process hahaa.  Only half way through.  Can't believe i originally thought NVC would only take a month or two.

Still waiting... PD is 9/27, transferred from Nebraska to Texas 2/16. It's officially past the 6 month mark but can't see how calling will do any good based on my previous experience talking to USCIS customer service. I feel like I know more about the process than they do!

Me too, still waiting.........PD is 9/6 transferred from Nebraska to Texas on 02/07.

are you a beneficiary and live in Taxes? my husband called on WEDNESDY, ask why our case being trasferred to new york local office, and the tier 2 office said because the beneficiary (which is me ) who live in new york city

Yes I am beneficiary, me and my wife both live in Houston.

that's why they transferred us, because the beneficiary live inside of the US, so does your case said transferred to my local office? or transferred to texas service center,  I live with my husband in new york city, but I think you need to call the tier 2 officer, your wife call, because she is petition, and push the officer to asign your case to an officer to review, after my husband on the phone for one hour on 29th, i checked online, my case was assigned to an officer to review why takes longer than normal time, and the tier 2 officer told my husband we will hear back in 5days,

Thanks, sept are being approved, they should have acted on your being pd 8/2.

i Have also heard that stand alone I-130 takes longer time.

Most people In the states file, I-130 packet along with I-485 And I-765 all together)

I filed I-130 by its self. (Stand alone)

usually done when the beneficiary isn't eligible for adjustment of status.(I-485)

YAY!!!! NVC finally received my I-130 packet from USCIS today

 

Not as great as a CC...or even a case # but it's a start.  They said i should have my Case # by next week. 

 

Out of curiosity, any suggestions on how to send the IV packet?  USPS certified 2-day Priority with return receipt?  Too much?
