I'd call USCIS to check.  Mine said approved before it went to Dept of State but there was about a week and a half delay in it being sent to Dept of State.

I agree, if it makes you feel better you can call to double check.  Mine said approved on the USCIS website last week, then about two days ago it was updated yet again saying the case was sent to the Dept. of State.  I'm sure your case is just fine!  Remember this is the USCIS website and we all know how wacky their updates can be.  Especially with the text/email services.  Some people receive updates and others don't.  Again, if you want to call you may, but I am almost sure you have absolutely nothing to worry about. :)

I think it gets approved first then sent to department of state, that means yours is already approved and on the way to NVC...sometimes those with approved has to wait a week or so before sending to NVC due to cases being sent to NVC in batches..just my thought

I agree, this is the same scenario that happened to me.  I waited about a week or so (after approval notice), and this week my cases were updated on the USCIS website reflecting the Dept. of State notification.  Cases are approved, then sent to the NVC.  NVC/Dept of State are same thing.

Thank you so much!  That actually does make a lot of sense considering I hear all sorts of horror stories about delays in updating their system.

My USPS informed delivery just sent me an email with a picture of the letter so apparently it should be arriving today with the official notice so hopefully it will provide some clarity.  Will provide updates this afternoon after I hound the mailman for the letter :)

Yes, and regardless of what the website says, the most important thing is that you get your hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail.  This is what really confirms your approval.  It is what makes it truly official when you get this notice in your hand!

Case sent to department of state!!! Pd 9/26 and transferred to Texas from Nebraska on 2/15.  Don't give up hope!!! I have a feeling they're speeding through since the 6 month threshold is looming.

question: is there a difference between getting sent to the department of state versus getting sent to the national visa center?  Little bit scared that it might have been sent to the wrong place for post decision processing.

working on a checklist and process flow for Nvc stage since someone asked and will share it when done :)

This is good news! Hopefully they approve my soon too. My PD is also 9/26, sent to Texas on 2/15.

Just going off topic a little..

I see that during submitting Documents to the NVC process, they say never to send any original document, all photocopy but needs to bring the originals to the interview, so if i have all the original papers in USA, will i have to send all the documents back to my wife in home country so she can take them to the interview?

Someone told me that i should send the orignals to NVC and they will give it back to my wife during her interview in home country is that true?

Should this be cause for concern? Every petition around my case has a note about being received. Mine only says it was transferred. But our "Next Steps" are the same. Should I contact them to see if mine was received? Do you think that maybe they forgot to update mine?

Sorry for the large pictures.

Only photocopies to the NVC, unless they specifically request the originals.  It is true that your wife will need the originals for her interview.  If the NVC does request that you send them an original document, they will forward this document along with all other documents to the embassy where the interview will be held.  ONLY photocopies should be sent to the NVC though.

Do you by any chance have the same kind of checklist but for NVC stage?

You inspired me to make one :)  Consolidated all files for NVC - Interview steps.

Hope this helps!  I tried to include a little more information than necessary although this is solely focused on my situation (I-864EZ used for Spouse visa with no additional sponsors, CR1 to be filed in London).

Yes, you will need to send all the originals to your wife in her home country. She might be asked for something in the interview. She will need to ALSO have all of these originals when she enters the US the first time. My recommendation is to make a big binder will all the documents in plastic sleeves, that way they stay protected (no holes punched) and it's easy to find one if asked.
