I know, it's very frustrating! It burns me up that they wasted so much money on IBM to automate things. They should have just went through services similar to how we do our taxes. Or just hired more people!! Millions of dollars, wasted.

They are not getting living wages few days ago i think in ladt week officers of NVC was on strike for pay rise and they won the battle. So how they can hire more officers to work on cases. Millions of dollars are going into pockets of big fishes.

I know what you mean and how you feel.  Especially when you know it's so close!  Everyone is getting so anxious now.  I just wait for the day until I look down at the phone and see that USCIS notification.

Anyways, hang in there!!!  You're almost there!  I know it is hard, but you have made it this far already and of course you can always call as others have suggested.

Thanks, the means a lot. That's exactly how I feel about it, I just feel that it's going to happen soon - I will check my case app and it will say something different! :D I gave up calling them because there is nothing that they tell me that I already don't know from the app or the website :D

Companies are always looking to stretch their workers thin. Expect 1 person to do the job of 5 and still only get paid very little.

same here, we got transferred Feb 9th.  We tried to do the online e-request today, but we live abroad and we can't fill in the online form because you need to specify a state.  My husband called USCIS today to see what could be done.  He said since you live abroad you can't do anything.  Quite strange when an immigration office can't do anything for those of us who live abroad.

Guess we will just wait and see!  For those of you who got your transfer notice, did it say anything of importance other than the transfer location?

Not really, about the only thing of importance in that notice was that it stated the specific service center your case was transferred to.  Other than that, nothing significant.

I can't believe that is the response that you got from the officer when your husband called.  It almost seems like he was just giving any answer to get off the phone quick.  That's crazy.

Is it advisable/possible to contact senator for help before hitting the exact 6 months waiting time (normal processing time)? Has anybody already tried ?

You can't contact them until you have officially gone over the "normal" processing time which is 6 months. If you try before that, they likely will tell you to continue to wait. However, that doesn't mean that you can't prepare a letter ahead of time and send it immediately after you hit 6 months. I'd also recommend a follow up phone call with the congressman/senator's office for the same day/week.

Good Morning Everyone. Still waiting for the case number from NVC and it's already 2 months. Frustrated enough and praying for everyone who are yet to be approved.

A question from my side which is troubling me. My wife doesn't really earn ,she's a student. My Father in law annual income is not enough to sponsor me. So in this case can i use my friend as a LONE SPONSOR for me instead of a joint sponsor along with my Father in law. Will there be questions raised from NVC that why not an immediate family member rather than a friend. Need help on this issue.

Hey MujtabaRahman -- a couple of things for you

1. Have you called NVC? You should receive a case number approximately 2 weeks after your case has been transferred there. I have seen people reporting on VJ that NVC has told them to wait 1 month recently to get a case number, but 2 months is crazy. You need to call them and ask for a tier 2 supervisor when you get through. You should have a case number assigned by now.

2. The rules about joint sponsors are clear -- you can basically use anyone you want, as long as they are in the United States and earn enough money. One thing to understand though, your wife MUST be your sponsor, since she is petitioning on your behalf. So, in your case you can have your wife as main sponsor (she fills I-864) since she doesn't earn enough on her own, you have your friend as the joint sponsor (this person fills the I-864 also). No need for your father-in-law. If the friend is married and has a husband/wife that they file taxes jointly with -- their spouse will also need to fill a form the I-864A -- this is essentially proving to NVC that the spouse knows your friend is agreeing to sponsor you.

You can PM me if you have more questions or if something isn't clear! Good luck.
