When you filed the amendment what all did you fill out.  I am did the same thing and am looking at the form but do not know exactly what I am to fill out if I am only changing my filing status.  Do you mind helping me out?  If you would not mind sending me an example, of how you did yours, because I cannot find one online.  Reading all this really freaked me out and it has been WAY TO LONG of a wait for my taxes to be the stupid thing that messes it up.  Thank you.

Appréciations to everyone who shared their tax knowledge. Taking all that as my point of departure, I looked into it on IRS and Intuit forums, and yep.. about to file an amended return. I agree with whomever said that this has already taken too long, and stupid tax things shouldn't slow us down more. Although it likely will.. hmph. 

 

For those who have filed married filing separately (my case, because he didn't have an income that would be helpful for last year, and has no ITN)... did you write your spouse's name in the name box, or NRA? Did you write NRA in the SSN spot? Research suggests that most write NRA for the name, but that we could write either? And hoe would writing NRA impact the checks at the NVC stage, in your guys opinions?

This is what I did based on conversations with the IRS, expat advisors and my own research. For my situation I filed "married filing seperatley". Listed my spouses name where it says name. Where it says SSN I put in NRA. I then included a cover sheet to the IRS with my return. Stating who my wife was where she lived etc so there would be no confusion.

they said Potomac service center.

 

 

??? if they can say my case was transferred to Nebraska wonder how true it is when they said we won't hear anything until March 22.

 

 

they will say anything over phone.

 

 

i dislike where my case at but I am glad I know where it at.

It moght be a mistake. Try to check your case status online if thats changed. As there were huge number of applications transferred from Nebraska to another service center on 7th Feb and their status got changed online I have checked and notice 1 thing that fillers from 6th sep and 2nd sep nd 1st sep hadn't been transferred. But I'm sure about 1 thing they are working in august cases as they told yo my wife over the phone and i did make sure online 25th audust case from Nebraska still needs to be approve.

K that good..,you mean on USCIS check see if it changed? No it didn't change at all.

 

yesss I don't remember seeing sept 1,2,6 and some other numbers get transferred.

Yes, you can expedite your case.  Look for the requirements to expedite the case.

Finally found out!  Welcome to the club!!! Team Potomac! Lol...

 

Honestly, I think we will start seeing some action this month for September filers.  I feel it.  It's coming.
