Hi everyone!

I'm hoping someone can put my mind at ease. I had my interview August 3, 2016 at which time the consulate officer told me I needed the originals of the Intent to Marry and Affidavit of Support (both were signed, scanned and sent to me by my fiancé, but the consulate wanted the original document). He gave me a piece of paper on "completing immigrant visa application by mail' and sent me on my way. My fiancé sent me the 2 documents by mail, and once I received them, I turned around and send them to the consulate, along with my passport. I also provided additional supporting documents. The consulate received my package on Aug 11th. August 16th, my status (unknown what it was before the 16th) changed to Administrative Processing, and then on August 18th, changed to Ready. It is now August 31st and I haven't heard anything.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a response? The consular officer at the interview told me 4-8 weeks, but I am hoping sooner.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated if anyone else has or knows someone who has had a similar experience.

Thanks!

Don't worry about it.Everything is going to be alright. As far as the status updates are concerned do not worry about them, sometimes they confuse you.Your case status might change to issued soon.

We had almost exactly the same situation. My fiancé had his interview on August 24 and we did not have the original I-134 affidavit either, only the scanned copy. I overnighted the original document to him and he took the form to the registered Post Office with the bar code we got online. That would have been on August 25th. Nothing has changed on the status yet, not even showing that the document was received. His status still shows "send documents" . We have a wedding planned for September 24th and I am starting to get worried. The agent that interviewed him told him it would take about 14 days to process. When should I we that the documents were received and how will he be notified to pick up his Passport/Visa?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated

Are you looking at the ais.usvisa-info.com website? You should check for status updates on the CEAC website... ceac.state.gov and use your case #. You will have better status tracking luck on that site. that you for the update with your interview! That helps me! I will keep you posted on my progress. Also, I was told that people are getting an email once their status is changed to 'Issued' to give them a tracking number once their visa is sent out.

I hope that helps you! If anyone else has had the same experience and now have their visa issued, it would be greatly appreciated to know just how long it took from the time the consulate received the requested documents to the time they got their visa issued, and then in hand.

We resubmitted our missing documents via overnight courier, and the consulate received our documents on August 11, 2016. We kept checking back, and we were finally approved on Sept 14, 2016. I received the visa via courier on Sept 16, 2016. So, it took just over a month, but remember, it is a case by case basis. Just make sure to stay patient. Hope this helps! Good luck with everything!
