I have questions regarding the process once the application goes to CSC. Mine has been there since May 16th and it is the only one left to be processed with 5 days before and after. I have notice that the Moroccan applications are not being processed very quickly either. With the time lines on this site there are about 10 that has not been processed regardless of RFE or not. I have called and they tell me they have 5 months so that will be October but is that just for California to approve or deny or does that include NVC and the consulate interview? I feel like the applications go into a huge room and someone will come in and grab a stack, not staying with dates and in order because there is no logical order that I see. They process whatever stack they have and go and pick and choose a different stack again not staying to order or logic, seems they are leaving the Moroccan applicants. This is my opinion of course but I am a bit concerned and would like some insight if anyone has any to the actual process. I know this is the government and like any part of it it's the hurry up and wait technique but my patience is getting a bit thin at this point.

Five months is the processing times for just the service center. You don't get 'judged' there on what country your origin is, though. Don't take timelines too serious here about processing times etc, it's not accurate. Also, don't compare your case to every other case from May. Each case is different. There might be some other people who know how it might work inside the USCIS but I highly doubt your case gets treated differently because you're Middle Eastern.

Also, update your timeline correctly. You did not get transferred from Texas SC to California SC. Your petition has been send to a Texas lockbox and routed to California which is the standard processing center now.

This is a Q&A with a former adjudicator (HUSKERKIEV ). 2007 time frame so it is a bit dated.

There is a very good background post here:

http://www.visajourn...on-information/

The main reason an application is delayed seems to be that the database checks take longer for some people. And if a flag is raised, then the adjudicator must resolve that before approving the application. So some applications may have a lot of hidden activity just based on the applicants names.

Adjudicators are evaluated on production. If there is something about your package that makes it difficult to evaluate, then they may put it on the back burner and work it after they have burned through some easy applications.

It has been the 5 months and no movement on my application. No RFE's no NOA2 nothing. As I posted before I really believe that my application has been misplaced. I did read the posts and all the information those of you had sent me and it was what I needed, thank you. Now I am concerned enough that I did ask my State Representative to get involved. I don't think it is because of the country but I do believe it was lost.. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I do welcome it all. Thank you.

The entire immigration process is a supreme exercise in patience, either exercising patience, or acquiring patience. There are many of us her on these forums that can certainly understand and have empathy with your current plight. with your current plight.

My family and I were actively involved in the immigration process that took almost two years of our lives. As evidenced by our timeline, our K1/K2 visa process took a little over nine (9) months, our AOS process took almost four and one-half (4 & 1/2) months, and our ROC process took over (9) months.

Try to keep in mind that this whole process is a marathon and is certainly not a sprint.

The end result will certainly be worth the wait.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Excellent advice from Pitaya.

As hard as it is, try not to look at others around you. It only causes frustration. I know from experience.

Now that you've passed 5 months, you can also put in a service request with USCIS. The Congressional inquiry and service request may or may not help, but at least it will give you peace of mind that you're being proactive and doing whatever you can to move it along.

I still have not received anything from California. My State Representative has received something about background checks but I got that before as well. I call roughly every three weeks and request an inquiry. I still get nothing. I understand this is not for the weak hearted or the impatient, but honestly this is so frustrating. I almost don't want to see any timelines because I get even more frustrated and wonder what was so different about their packet as to mine. I did find out that even though the site says 5 months it is 5 months from the date they are on not 5 months from when you applied. Very confusing. Anyway..I am still waiting.

Because for a lot of people it is five months or less. Yours is stuck on background check, any reasons for that maybe? Any of you two have criminal background? Done something against the law in the past?

Oh Wow.. that's awesome for them but you are right sucks for us. I just don't understand why. I just put another call in to them today for a call back. I just hope that we can get him over here before Trump comes into power. He might put a stop to Morocco and other places. I am a bit nervous even though it has to go through Congress and all. You never know.

No StephAdams, neither of us have anything in our background. I think that is their go to reason and they really don't know where it's at or it hasn't been touched yet. Who knows. I am in the medical field and can't have anything in my background and for him, he hasn't done anything that I am aware of anyway. So I don't really believe it to be lingering in background to be honest.
