Scientists create sheep that's 15% human

Scientists have created the world's first human-sheep chimera - which has the body of a sheep and half-human organs.

The sheep have 15 per cent human cells and 85 per cent animal cells - and their evolution brings the prospect of animal organs being transplanted into humans one step closer.

Professor Esmail Zanjani, of the University of Nevada, has spent seven years and £5million perfecting the technique, which involves injecting adult human cells into a sheep's foetus.

First and foremost, the news article has a twist. It's aim is to find viewers who has no knowledge of genetics, or just some little knowledge. It's very difficult to explain science to a pseudo-science audience. That is what separates the scientists from the news.

Genetic engineering has been done with tomatoes, salmon, strawberries, etc...The anti-freeze gene that they extracted from a fish and inject it into the DNA of the tomato makes the tomato resistant to cold temperatures. This gives rise to new definition of being a Vegetarian. And, most non-encoding genes within any organism contains pieces of retro-viruses that have become a part of every living, breathing organisms. So, in essence, we do share some common things with animals.

Organic used in the marketing sense means that the plant has not been altered. However, organic used in science means that it is either altered or not. Organic in science simply is anything that contains the Carbon-Carbon molecular bonds of any functional groups. Many people are confused because MARKETERS are smart into tricking people to buy what they know people want to hear.
