Hi guys! My I-765 and AP got approve on 7th of December. I got an approval notice today but its only for the AP.Should i still get an approval notice for the work permit? Even if i get two letters it will be a combo if i get my card?

Thanks

You'll get the combo card with the approval letter for the I-765. I got the AP approval letter first too.

Is there anyone that filed around September 19th that is still waiting for EAD? We sent my husband's application in on this date and got the confirmation it arrived Sept. 21st.

He has done biometrics and everything back in October, but I have not received an update on if it has been approved and/or they are sending the card. We are on day 85. I called USICS and they said they had his biometrics on file, everything was fine but no additional activity on the case. I would have to call after the 90 mark to open a case.

Anyone in the same position? Or did it come on the 90 day mark?

Our application arrived on 9/27/16 and we are still waiting. We had to request an expedite two weeks ago due to my husband getting a job offer and we still haven't received an update. We have tried to get our Senator to help us out too, but still no response. We never received an RFE so it's not clear what the hold up is, as it seems many others get their EAD/AP combo card well before the 90 day mark. Very stressful!

So this is how my interview went:

We had the appointment at the Chicago field office. Got there 15 minutes earlier, went through the airport-like security and waited for about half an hour after the time on our sheet. We were greeted by the official who called our names and took the appointment letter. She was very nice from the beggining, she swore us in and started to ask me simple questions like my name, birth date etc. Went through the are you a terrorist or arms dealer questions and then procedeed to ask us when did we get married and how long have we known eachother, she laughed at our story and asked if we had any documents to prove we had a life together, gave her bank accounts statements, shared health insurance, bills and a signed letter from my mother in law stating that we lived in her house. She didn't ask for pictures but i still offered them along with flight stubs, 6 months of skype calls and messages, which she added to her file. She didn't ask things like what color is your spouse's toothbrush. At the end of the interview she said she had to check a few things about my visa entrances and exits and that if all was well i should expect my green card in the mail in about two weeks. We didn't get approved on the spot, but we got out of the interview feeling very confident and my case is a bit complicated so overall it was good. I will let you know if I get anything on the mail or if the status on the page changes. Good luck to you all!

Good luck

Be positive .hope goes well fr us too

Ah, yes, I thought that too. I should say I kind of still think that's true even though I called in to ask and the first rep said it completely restarts the clock back to day 1.

The wording is a bit tricky and I'm assuming it could go both ways... so I may try calling in again later today or tomorrow and asking for a supervisor to verify that info since I know the first reps that answer aren't that knowledgeable lol

Thanks!

Called the helpline about this. The clock only stops for the file that the evidence is requested for. Only if it's a real important piece of initial evidence that is missing the clock gets reset. If the evidence needed is for 485 and you had concurrently filed EAD and AP, then for those cases the clock keeps going. The information on the website says differently, but apparently that's not accurate anymore.

Yes, for sure - very stressful. It's hard to sit around that house all day and not be able to be productive. Alot of his time is spent driving around and window shopping to pass the day until I get home from work...

I read somewhere on a site that if 90 days has passed you can put in a request with local USICS office for a temporary permit until the GC or EAD actually gets to you.

No it's allowed to do a service request after day 75. There will be no temporary permit until EAD comes in hand.

I called today, got the can't put in a request for about another 30 days! Clock started again on 3rd Nov when they received RFIE. Just have to wait. I'm glad I have my AOS interview next week...doubt I will get any AED or AP before that is finalised now. No UK visit to see my mother this xmas then. :-(

So 3rd call in and again system unavailable and I asked for a supervisor and he said he wasn't able to transfer me, blah, blah. I insisted again (very politely) and I got transferred but got the "call back feature" available option. So I said ok, why not, I didn't think I would actually get a call back and sure enough I did.

Just got off the phone with an "officer" and she was very helpful. She just said "oh yeah looks like the I-765 has been pending 85 days now and next week will be the 90 day mark, let me go ahead and file that service request now to have them research that for you". I didn't have to say a thing or debate about any RFIE delay or not lol

I then made sure to give her my two K-2s receipt numbers as well to include a service request for them as well and she said "no problem".

I got reference numbers for my SR now - said we should hear back within 1 to 2 weeks.

This means they're going to "touch" our cases at least, which I'm hoping will be a good thing
