Okay so good news and some... confusing... news.

Case status shows I-131 Travel documents switched to approved today! Yay!

But for the EAD, the status is listed at "Date of Birth Was Updated"? Does anyone have any idea what that means?

I will have to wait until I get home tomorrow to check if we may have accidentally put his birthdate wrong on the form but it seems unlikely. I don't know if this has the potential to delay anything, but I'm hoping not.

**so searching a little it seems like other people had no issues and their status switched to card in progress shortly after the date of birth update. Hopefully it's the same for us!

It's me again guys congratulations to all who is getting approved I am excited for you all!!!!!?? anyways I finally got to send my rfie in yesterday by FedEx but am devasted right now first thing everything on my joint sponsor sheet is great he is way over 125%,, my problem is my husband as the main sponsor on the first page he didn't select one 1a that section is left blank only his name at the top, is that a huge problem? Next issue the household size he didn't counted it correct cause it's only 2of us but he didn't put a 1in the box beside yourself.........I was so excited to get it off I didn't see that the question is what am I suppose to do can I write a letter indicating the issue and how I wanted them to correct it, I did that for my i765 and I didn't have a issue can I do it for this too???? I tried stopping the package but it was already in transit n I am scared to stop it n I don't receive it back n then my joint sponsor refuse to do it over

Ahhh I hope I get my EAD/AP approval soon too! Been really anxious about this whole thing...I'm super paranoid that I might get a second RFE even though there's no reason why I should.

I feel the same way to be honest. Worried I'm gonna get a second RFE because my co-sponsor made no money last year on his taxes and is only making bank now. I explained it in a letter but I feel like if they feel like it they could just deny everything.

We scheduled an InfoPass appointment a couple days ago and they said they're still unsure why it said case was approved and so on. I've heard three different explanations from three different people. Also the guy said one can't exit the country with advanced parole unless they have their green card and that advanced parole comes after the green card.. which contradicts what the USCIS website says and what I've been reading on here. -__- So yeah our experience with the AOS process has been a mess.

First comes the approval notice, then the actual card. Sometimes if there's a delay in the first, it may come together (the same time) but they are different envelopes.

Hang in there, it's getting to you soon enough

Congrats to all who got EAD/AP and all the best to us waiting.

Interestingly enough I just asked a few days ago about sending my I 693 in on this forum and got a Notice today to applicant about my i693. It stated that the i693 was incomplete or missing and do not send anything until an RFE is given if so, or bring it to the interview if an interview is needed.

It came from NVC in Lee Summit Missouri .

Well that answers that.

I called USCIS and requested a call back from an immigration officer, to try and get a tracking number for my EAD.... they mailed it on the 2nd - and while everyone else seems to have got theirs pretty fast after that notice, mine has yet to arrive. It'd be nice to just have the peace of mind seeing where it is. They really ought to have the system automatically pull the tracking info in with the status change, it's a tiny nice touch!

Just woke up to a text message that my interview is now ready to be scheduled in early December. I've heard this is the approximate timeline for several Los Angeles-area filers too, from a couple of attorneys I've spoken to. Still weird that my EAD/AP hasn't been approved yet, considering that the application has already been considered prima-facie eligible to be scheduled for an interview.

Oh well, not complaining at all! Glad that the system is moving things along quickly and that I should hopefully have my Green Card approved, in under 3 months from the time I sent my packages in.

Best wishes to everyone else in the process! :)

My Timeline

  • Sent in AOS Package - September 8, 2016
  • NOA1 Hardcopy - September 23, 2016
  • Biometrics Letter - October 2, 2016 (Scheduled for October 10, 2016)
  • Biometrics Walk-In - October 3, 2016 (Successful)
  • RFIE - October 6, 2016
  • Response to RFIE Sent - October 14, 2016
  • Response received text from USCIS - October 20, 2016
  • Interview has been scheduled for December 6, 2016 - November 7, 2016 (Text and Hardcopy notices within 12 hours of each other)
  • EAD/AP Approved - November 8, 2016
  • Green Card Approved - December 6, 2016

Finally got around to checking the I-765 we sent in and sure enough, his birth date was set as the 17th of the month and not the 13th. Whoops.

Hopefully we have the same experience as other posters I have seen and it updates to approved soon!
