This will probably get lost in the sea of people celebrating their EAD/AP approval (congratulations!), but I have a simple question people may be able to help me out with.

You can refer to my timeline, but basically, I never received a letter about my original Biometrics Appointment (despite calling USCIS multiple times), so I missed the original appointment on October 11th. The actual letter arrived TODAY, letting me know I had an appointment at 10am. So I finally got to complete my Biometrics Appointment, request an expedited EAD, and contact my local congressman (who I had already been in contact with, but asked me to wait until I had finished the Biometrics) to petition on my behalf.

So, today was productive. However, there were roughly 24 days between my original appointment I never heard about (October 11th), and today (November 4th).

Is this likely to delay my case by 24 days?

A little bit of an update: My husband applied for a job and was offered the position. However, they called and told him that if he doesn't have his work permit in his hands in 8 days, they will have to pull his application and cancel his offer. He is so dissapointed, and I feel bad. I called USCIS and there is nothing they can do...Ugghhh this process is so frustrating. :ranting:

Yes, I have the same worry. Thinking I should give it more than a few minutes before I freak out though ;-)

Get out of here with your reasonable suggestions! ;)

My AED has that same update onNov. 1 and my AP was approved Nov 2. My 2 K2s AED/ AP were both updated on Nov. 1 so I thought that was strange. You will get your AP approval in the next few hours or days :)

Thanks for the reassurance! Before getting the EAD card production text, I was so zen -- "no need to worry yet, no point in stressing" -- and then it's like an anxiety switch -- "is this normal?! clearly I seriously screwed up!"

Congrats! You have almost the same dates as me, I'll be obsessed with checking now :-/

It looks like you and I mailed the same day and our applications were received on the same day but the notifications and NOA-1 for our case are almost a week apart.

Must have been a busy week for USCIS!

Doubt he will start a job December 1st. But he will get it in December probably.

If this is a job you normally can't find then I would take it and then struggle for a bit until he can start.

Thanks, Georgia. Short, but to the point.

Sorry didn't mean to be short :)

we don't get receipt notice for the affidavit of support, that is required for I485 and not an application form for anything.
