Hopefully soon!

(There is a LOT is all this process there is a total waste of money)

Maybe that just how they do it there?

Here the man who took the picture and fingerprints just asked me to confirm the names on the screen was correct and spelled correct.

True, could be just this specific office's procedures. Here they checked the notices and passports 3 times before you actually get to the picture & fingerprints. Once before walking in to the office, once at the door to get in and the final check by an officer who checks your notice and the intake sheet you fill out.

I'd love to go in there and reorganize their whole system from the top down! I wonder how much time is wasted through inefficient, archaic systems

Here they checked the passport when we got in and then at the table where they took the papers.

Here they were really strict I wasn't allowed to hold my sons bio letter and passport he HAD to hold it himself all the way.

I'd love to go in there and reorganize their whole system from the top down! I wonder how much time is wasted through inefficient, archaic systems

I'll join you! :D

I was able to go in with them all the way, no questions asked, and I was the one holding the boys' stuff with no problems at all. I wonder why they don't just standardize procedures across all offices...

Anywho, onward to bigger and better things! Halloween is on Monday and we're going to do pumpkin carving tomorrow night and I have no idea what design I want :huh2: lol

Hello everyone I have been following this thread since I started my process and I finally feel comfortable sharing my story in hopes of being of assistance to some one else. We completed our application on our own and some things are happening that is very different than what some of you have stated. For example we did not submit a G-325 for the minor child 13 however he was still called for his bio appt. It is my understanding that although the fee is waived, it does not mean the form should not be submitted. I am keeping my fingers crossed hoping that there will not be an RFE for this however I am not ready. Good luck to everyone on their journey. This is not my first marriage in which I petitioned for a foreign spouse however I was younger and uneducated and did not participate much in the process. This time is much different. My advice to any first time filers if I can offer you any advice it is to relax. There are certain things that USCIS will understand in different situations. What may be an issue for some may not be an issue for others. My husband and I have been having a lot of disagreements about how we prove our marriage is bonafide. My concern is that it looks more suspicious trying to do things just to prove our marriage as opposed to allowing things to occur naturally. Not even a government agency is allowed to dictate how you decide to run your marriage.

It's G-325A not the G-325 and no kids under 14 don't have to fill them out.

OK it was a typo no need for the tone. Actually I learned that it depends on the IO who receives your packet. If you read the instructions carefully it says that the biometrics fee is waived however a G-325A is required for the i485 application regardless of age. If you believe differently I challenge you to show me where it says that in writing. This info came from my brother's wife who was an IO for 15 years in NY. Sometimes they may let it go if the parent is applying too, however if done separately I would send it as well. That is my advice.

I don't think Georgia had any tone but informative :-)

This is copied from the instructions for i485:

"You must submit a completed Form G-325A if you are between 14 and 79 years of age."

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Read the instructions on the I-485 again under Initial evidence #8. And don't ask me to do anything. And also don't come ask for help if you don't what to hear any answer there isn't what you want to hear.

Tthis is a very subjective process because my minor stepson received a code 3 fingerprint same as his dad. Did anyone else experience that? Seeking commonality.

This is a forum, message board - not a face-to-face, in person conversation you're having and politeness can be "read" or interpreted many different ways by many different people. There are many cultures here and what you may find to be impolite may actually be polite in the eyes of another.

Since we're all here to help and you did mention your brother's wife was an actual IO in NY for 15 yrs... just a thought, but maybe you want to ask her the question you posed here and get more insider info. Ask her what the different codes mean. P.S. My wife had code 3 and my stepsons had code 2.

All in all, we are all here to help each other out and I sure am not going to get all offended if somebody responds to me and they don't start with "Hi" :pop:

Good luck on your journey
