Just got notified that we will have our AOS interview on February 1st, in Detroit. Was hoping for no interview, but at least we'll have sooner rather than later.

My RFIE response FedEx package just got picked up and it should be delivered tomorrow morning :dancing:

We have biometrics scheduled for tomorrow morning so hoping the timing of all this works in our favor to get the ball rolling again as fast as possible.

My husband has his biometrics appointment tomorrow. Yay. Is it possible to get some more information on our case at the biometrics appointment? We have an infopass appointment scheduled on another date- as advised by the USCIS when we called. But otherwise is it also possible to get some information at the Biometrics appointment? Or is everyone usually just too busy.

They don't do anything other then take the papers you fill out in there and then take the picture and fingerprints.

Update: Successful Biometrics today

Side note: Due to my wife's name change when we got married, I guess we had to go to like "secondary" and get an "approval" signature on their intake sheet from what appeared to be an immigration officer (in his own separate office) off to the side. So we waited a tad bit and he escorted us all in (my wife, 2 kids and myself). He then literally just took like a glance at the certified copy of the marriage license I took and then proceeded to ask my wife some questions. He was kind of joking around but at the same time using his "power" to make the jokes and saying stuff to the kids like "If you say I'm ugly..." and then kind of pretending to crumble up their documents in his hand... all while laughing and keeping up this "jokester" attitude.

Needless to say after he realized it was my wife and not my "sister" and he asked me what I do for work and I answered I work at a law firm... he totally toned it down and it was smooth sailing after that. I have to admit that can be very intimidating for some. Luckily my wife knows how it is and brushed it off after we walked out.

What a day!!! Glad that's over and my RFIE response package was delivered via FedEx this morning :dancing:

Do find it strange you had to to the other stuff though. I didn't and I have change name also and haven't heard of other with name change who had to do that.

Exactly! I found it odd as well since I hadn't seen anybody post anything like this before... so I made it a point to watch and sure enough we weren't the only ones. They had 1 in front of us and another 2 that were after us do the same thing with this name change approval signature.

On another note, I have seen that people filled out their forms and got their notices with their married name but when their EAD/AP/Green Cards arrived it was with the "old", maiden name. So I'm kind of glad in a way that we went through that... maybe that means it's definitely assured everything is and will be with her new, married last name.

Maybe that just how they do it there?

Here the man who took the picture and fingerprints just asked me to confirm the names on the screen was correct and spelled correct.
