I filed the documents with my husbands last name. All my passport copies i94 etc have my maiden name on it. Could that be a problem?

That is not a problem, that is why we attached our marriage certificate. I assumed you wrote your new name on your Marriage Cert.

That is not a problem, that is why we attached our marriage certificate. I assumed you wrote your new name on your Marriage Cert.

no we got married in nevada and they do not ask you which name you want. they only write the maiden name on the marriage certificate. but i heard that in the us you have the right to take your husbands name after you got married. if i had a social security number i could only change that and boom new name ;-)

Lol good old Brooklyn customer service!!!! honestly I still cannot get used to how rude some people can be! My husband finds it amusing how mad I get but I am British and we say please and thank you for everything we even apologise when it's not our fault! Lol

It might be worth waiting for your official appointment, your application is still processing, I don't think getting your biometrics done before your scheduled appointment speeds anything up or slows it down! :-)

yea seem unhappy with their jobs lol. My husband and I were just trying to do my biometrics early because I been feeling sick these past few days due to my pregnancy. I just hope I will be ok on the day of my biometrics to avoid delays.

Oh yayyyy to your pregnancy! ?Congratulations, how exciting I hope you feel well on your appointment day! Just let them know if you feel unwell and they should let you jump the line! There was a woman who was sick when I was there and they pushed her to the front! Also I guy on crutches was pushed forward! It's worth a try!

I got there only half an hour before my slot - but someone there tried to get in 3 hours early and they were turned away and told to come back closer to the time of the appointment

There was a guy with a 3pm appointment in line with me at 8:40am they turned him away until it was closer to his appointment! Gotta appreciate an opportunist!!!

Hey Guys

Just got my Biometrics letter for 10/19 in Jacksonville Florida. But I want to do a Walk-in earlier this week in Tampa.

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.summary&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC&OfficeLocator.statecode=FL

I am assuming this is the list of all the offices in Florida, so can I just go to a different office with the original letter? and hope for a open spot? Or does it have to be that specific one listed on the letter in JAX?

A brides new married name is not put on a marriage cert, it is her Current legal name at that time of applying for the marriage certificate.

Her new married name does not appear on the marriage certificate at all.

So the format of Marriage Cert varies depending on the state I gues. Nevertheless, use whatever name the wify prefers.

Just bring your marriage cert on the Bio appointment to show husband's surname if she is using that.

I got married in Michigan and when the judge told me to sign and print my name during my civil ceremony, she told me to sign off as how I would like to have my name after marriage. I wanted to hyphenate and keep my last name with my husbands last name. So my marriage certificate reflects that and so does all my paper work to USCIS and receipts notices I haven gotten so far. It shows as follows: First Name, Last Name Hyphenated.
