what does that mean? no it just said delivered Chicago IL 60680

Did you double check the mailing address you used, just to make sure it's correct?

If USPS is doing an investigation, you may want to wait.

Other than that the only other thing you can do is start preparing another package.

USCIS can't say if they got it or not. They don't know to be honest until it has a case number so what they say you can't use to much right now.

You need to figure out if USPS did deliver it or not. Know they are doing an investigation but keep them busy on that part! ...

Oh and if you have to send it again for some reason then use FedEx much better then USPS.

If you end up going the route of re-sending another package... a suggestion if you may (I know it might be a little more expensive) but you might want to consider sending your next package via FedEx (make sure you use the Express/Courier address).

Hopefully you made a complete mirror copy of the petitions you sent, just copy that, but make sure you have original signatures of where you and your spouse signs.

If you wrote out a check, you will need to put a stop payment on it. You always will want to check at the bank to see if it was cashed. If money orders, I believe you can find out if they were cashed.

Let USPS do their investigation before you start cancelling checks if you wrote one, but for sure start on reproducing your petitions and paperwork, evidence. That is most important part.

No matter what do NOT leave. You'll be fine.

No, you don't have to leave the country. If needed you'll have to file again and lose more time.

But to your best interest, keep copies of every piece of paper you're sending to immigration. It may be needed for an eventual interview and years down the road.

I second here... you ALWAYS want to keep an exact copy of whatever you send. You just never know when you'd need it for some reason.

Don't panic and wait the 3 days or so for the USPS investigation but also I'd start preparing a new packet.

PS: Don't take all what USCIS told you today, the person on the phone don't have a clue what came in....... give it a few days, I bet it appears in mailroom.

what ever you do, DO NOT LEAVE THE USA, your overstay will be forgiven......

I bet they just sent the receipts via mail , and did not text or email you, that has happened a lot lately, mine took 9 days to receive via US mail...... give it till end of the week.

yea i know but if they just forgot to send the text i would have appeared in their data. but there was nothing. not under my married name nor my maiden name.

Not exactly. As someone mentioned before they will not be able to tell if they have it until it is actually filed and has a case number. Ours took about a week after out paper NOA-1s to get loaded into the system so we were able to check it with the case number.

Annie_losangeles, what do you mean your running out of time? You guys are already married and your trying to adjust your status here, thats LEGAL. Since you are already here I don't get why you would back to your home country. Once your I-485 is pending you remain in the US LEGALY, thats why they give us temporary work authorization or travel authorization while they are processing our application. Unless you don't qualify to adjust your status and thats a different story.

that is correct but until i do have a record number and uscis officially got and accepted my paperwork i am not legally in this country if my other visa expires before that
