My husband had a biometric appointment set for October 3, but we were able to successfully do a walk-in today! We went in about 20 minutes before they opened and were able to get everything done. They didn't even ask why he was coming in earlier than the scheduled date.

Our AOS Journey:

09/02/2016- Sent AOS Paperwork to Chicago lockbox (I-485, I-765, I-131)

09/05/2016- Paperwork received by Chicago lockbox

09/08/2016- NOA1 Texts Received

09/10/2016- NOA1s received in the mail

09/24/2016- Received biometrics letter in the mail for October 3, 2016

09/30/2016- Biometrics completed (walk-in, Tukwila)

10/01/2016- Notice of Request for Initial Evidence via text (I-485)

10/06/2016- Received RFIE in the Mail for I-864, Sent back response

10/12/2016- RFIE Received by USCIS

10/25-26/2016- Approval and Card Being Produced for EAD/AP

11/04/2016- Case Status changed to 'Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview'

11/07/2016- Case Status changed to ' Card was Mailed To Me'

11/10/2016- EAD/AP Card Received in Hand

03/16/2017- AOS Interview!!

My priority date is blank too. Don't worry about it, you don't really need priority dates. Priority dates are actually the date when they received the packet. I have seen Priority dates on I-130. So when you will check your local USCIS processing time, your basis is your received date.

Thank you! Just when I think I've got a handle on this whole process, something comes up that I realize I do not understand at all, giving me new reasons to panic... :bonk:

10/11: Receipt numbers work online (Day 15)

10/31: Biometrics Appointment scheduled for 11/10 (Day 35)

June 5th,2019   USCIS received my response on the  NOID// Addressed the NOID myself, No lawyer ever used in case.

July 1st, 2019  10 YEAR GREEN CARD APPROVED

July 5th, 2019   Approval letters for I-130 & I-485 received in the USPS  mail.

July 11th 2019   Green Card in Hand

I called USCIS. Biometrics letter is on the way for 10/12. Hopefully I get it today or tomorrow so I can do an early walk in on Monday.

After that, begins the wait for EAD. I'm so excited to start working and going back to school. Hubby is working OT so I'm looking forward to helping out.

Btw, can the advanced parole be applied for at this point? Doesn't matter bow really but it would be nice to pop in on my mom and surprise her...

The wait for GC seems to be about 8 months to a year where I am so I know that I have to be extra patient for that leg of the process.

Congrats to everyone getting NOA's and BIO appt.!!

I will go Monday for my bio appt. haven't been able to walk-in because I have been working a lot of OT, but I am ready to get this whole process over with.

Yes, definitely at weird/odd hours of the day, including weekends. Doesn't mean they are there working at that time, just means the system probably confirmed the assignment of case number(s) and has random times for issuing out the texts/emails.

Got the bio appointment letter today! It looked like it had already been open though, and was taped shut? Just out of curiosity did anyone else receive theirs like that?

Anywayyy, we are driving down to Milwaukee Tuesday night and then going to try a walk in Wednesday morning! Hopefully all goes well :)

No, that is weird. Someone must of opened it somewhere along the way, or someone from your neighborhood or own house. All envelopes come sealed.

Yes, it can! If you didn't file for AP when you filed for AOS, you can do that now. If you include a photocopy of your NOA to prove you have a pending I-485, I believe they waive the filing fee.
