We had my fathers AOS interview yesterday and we did NOT get approved on the spot.... He had a prior immigration case from back in 2001 that they had questions about. Stated that if "everything checked out we will get approval in 4-5 weeks" ... interview seemed like it went ok BUT you never know until you actually have a letter approving you.

 

as for my mother, no AOS interview yet... just the RFE we got back in 10/12/17 requesting medicals again. we sent them back and still nothing since then.....

 

this is a never ending process.

May I ask, what kind of immigration case from 2001 did your father have?   Was it for another petition for a visa ?

yes , his ex wife petitioned for him and during the process (everything took years) in that time they separated and he sent a letter stating he was no longer living with her, so he got denied due to not being able to adjust since he pretty much revoked the app. they had questions regarding that case. Lady was very pleasant but we will see

yea of course, no problem. Hopefully you guys get rescheduled for a interview soon! as for the EAD renewal.. it took my aunt roughly 205 days.... my parents are now on day 177... and we sent ours on 08/07/17... so 3 days before you did. I am hopeful that this new month of February will bring lots of blessings our way!

like I had mentioned to you guys before.. my dads interview was this past Monday 1/29/18....today our I 485 changed to "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed"... this is the first status update online since Sept of 2016 which is when they received our original application. Hoping for the best

For the ones who have had their interview, does the officer keep your original documents asked for at interview?

 

Also, did they want to keep copies of Life Insurance and such?

My Sister just recently did her interview in the Oakland Park Florida Office. She took an entire packet based on the checklist provided when they sent the interview letter. The only thing they took were copies of  their drivers licence, copy of their marriage licence, and the officer picked thru the pictures.

She had bank statements, proof of insurance, but they did not request either of those things.

Thank you, I followed the check list also, and a couple of extra things just in case. You never know.

Hello everyone hope all is well with you all.

I noticed the thread came to a halt hopefully thats good news that everyone else got their interview and approval.

I'm still waiting Aug 13 would be 23 months wait. According to USCIS processing times the i-485 process in the miami office takes 23.5 months.

So my toes and fingers are crossed for an interview notice soon.

Have you not done anything this time? Made a request or talked to your senators' office?

I had made an inquiry back in January got a response in march saying that my case is within the processing time. I also contacted the ombudsman for assistance, they called last week to confirm that i received GC. Told them i did not, they said they will continue to look into my case.

But based on the uscis website anyone with a receipt date before August 30 can inquire. So im waiting to see what happens when my Sept date arrives.

I can't believe that the ROC window is opening for some of us this year December. TIME is flying!!

You should make an inquiry again, January was 7 months ago. if there was any record that your GC was released, it may have been lost in the mail. I hope you will get your GC soon.

 

@daniel4310 -  we are filing in Dec for ROC too. I am excited just to can now ROC. I have not started on anything yet. Too busy with work..
