That was fast! My husband was approved at our interview on Tuesday the 24th and the card already arrived today on the 28th! That is only 4 days! I was very surprised!

I have not receive the actual letter yet. So far we have insurance, Mc, photos during the wedding, cards from our guests, school registration for my daughter that he is the primary guardian (being the US Citizen, my minor daughter claimed reaidency thru him to pay resident tuition rate) I don't know what else to bring ?. We have separate Bank accounts, my phone is under his name maybe i can use thay too. 

Perhaps you can share with me your list.

Congrats! Just wait for the interview notice in the mail and you'll see what they ask you to bring. But basically take all the originals of the birth certificates, divorce certificate (if applicable) and marriage certificate with U.S. citizen. Must all have English translations if in another language. Take anything you want to submit as proof of a bonafide marriage... for us all we took was health insurance showing they are all on my plan at work, life insurance listing each other as beneficiaries, phone bill showing shared lines,  joint bank checking account statements and about 30 pics which I told her she could keep them all and she gladly accepted. 

 

Oh make a copy of your interview notice if you want to keep a copy because they'll keep it. We didn't get asked to surrender the EAD card even though I took theirs and asked her but she said she didn't need it.

Congrats to those who have been approved and good luck to those with interview dates! 

 

I called USCIS last week to ask an agent if my case had been transferred to the field office, or if it was still at the NBC. It apparently was transferred, so I guess... now we just wait for it to be ready for an interview to be scheduled! New York is - understandably - very busy and very behind. So I don't think we'll hear anything before the summer. 

 

I don't mind too much. I'm happy, I'm with the person I love and I'm working. All in all, I feel very very privileged, especially under current circumstances!

Hey everyone!

 

Uh so, probably irrelevant this late in the ball game but just for the sake of updates, my husband received his green card in the mail back in late December, right before we left for my hometown for Christmas. 

 

Very surprising as the wait times for our service center (Milwaukee) were estimated at longer than average. 

 

Anyway, it's good to be back and I hope to see those still waiting to get good news soon!

I called USCIS this morning as the wait is starting to grind and the automated message said that my case is at Lee's Summit MO which is the NBC. I've read that this is because of one or two things.... either it hasn't been processed or sent to my local field office (when I called about a different matter some weeks ago I was told that it was in St Louis), or it's being processed for an interview waiver. On the processing times for the NBC there is nothing for the I-485 because I guess they don't process them... odd. Anyone else experiencing this? I was anticipating a couple more months yet anyway but this has thrown a bit of a curve ball now.

I will not look back on this journey with fond memories, but I will look back knowing that every step was worth it, whatever the outcome.

You have to look at the timelines for your local office. When it has passed that time then you can make a service request for outside normal processing times other then that all you can do is wait. Ours are also still at Lee's Summit and haven't been looked at since September 16th. I'm not nervous at all yet though.
