I don't think the EAD approval really has much to do with the I-485 progress. If there are lacking documents for the 485 then that will halt the EAD, but receiving your EAD can't tell you anything about the 485.

Oh okay. Thank you. I'm just getting frustrated. Some companies won't grant me an interview until the green card is in hand :-(

What sort of jobs are you applying for? Unless it's something that needs security clearance, or for some other reason will only employ citizens or permanent residents, I'm not sure this is legal. I-9 verification is only done after a job offer is accepted. Before an offer, if asked you should just say "I am authorized to work in the US and do not require sponsorship".

I was applying to a job with Exxon Mobil. I did tell them that. But we got to the point where they realized it's just an EAD and said they cannot continue to interview me for a US based position without officially having at least the green card

My case is at the NBC (as far as I can tell). After I filed my AOS packet and I got my NOAs, my case (edit: on the USCIS case status website) updated to "We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case." Since then I've had no notification or letters saying anything about a field office or a different Benefits Center.

I think everyone's case says that it is at the NBC, I think it starts there and is then sent over to your local office. I have called multiple times for my husband's AOS and they tell me what specific local office is processing our application. I think the NBC only processes EAD's.

That's true too, you're not that far away from the 90 day mark. Good luck on Monday and let us know how it goes :)

For those interested, my hubby finally got his EAD in the mail yesterday, 116 days. Day 91, I called and asked for a service request - rep said wait for 15 days and will get a response from officer on case as to why it was taking so long. Day 13 after the SR, I called our local congresswomen to help push the case. I was going to send in the paperwork the next day, but got the notification that the case was approved. Two days later we go the NOA and then the card yesterday. No need to involve congress rep after all, well for now - we'll see how AOS app goes.

Interview scheduled for 02/14 ! :) 7:15am tough 45 miles away :( Any idea how long we're likely to be there as my wife is working 12 hour night shift that evening. Also does my 14 year old son need to come as he has a different appointment time? Is his interview any different and on his own or is it all part of my interview?

How long it will take is entirely dependent on the IO and that field office. We have two small boys (both under 10) and they each got an interview notice: one being 1hr before my wife's and the other 1hr after my wife's. I know for a fact they cannot be interviewed alone since they are minors so we probably all go in with the earliest appt time.

I'm sure it's just procedure as to schedule-wise to allot the time per individual as it's assigned.

Another update...

So on Saturday we received in the mail approval notices for the AP cases; notice date 1/9/17 (same approval date as the EAD cases).

The funny thing is the AP cases don't show any update on the case status online and we never received any hardcopy approval notices for the EAD cases.

Anywho, so I guess this means we'll be receiving a combo card EAD/AP lol

Looks like others outside of LA are getting interviews scheduled too. Maybe there is some hope yet. My spouse and I have a bet going back and forth on when we will get an interview scheduled (I am sure we will have one as we currently don't live together for school reasons). I am winning at the moment.... but he still has a chance within the next two weeks! :P Just continuing to wait it out with nothing changing on our case or statuses since the beginning of November...

Good luck to all those with interviews soon!

Hi, I haven't been on this thread for a long while but thought I'd update you all to let you know that I still haven't heard anything lol.

There's no telling when either, although I did make a call to USCIS (about something different) and I asked about my case whilst I was on and I was informed that St Louis is taking 16 months  and not worth checking my case until August  Okay because yeh, I have the willpower to not bother checking for a further 8 months!! Anyhooooooooooooo, gratz to all who have got their approvals or interviews scheduled, not jealous one bit.... no sirrreeeeee, nope, not me!! Ha! Sincerely, gratz! :D

:pop:

I will not look back on this journey with fond memories, but I will look back knowing that every step was worth it, whatever the outcome.

Hey guys, just got approved for my conditional gc! Yay! Waiting in the area was so much longer than the actual interview. Most of the time the IO was just looking over our paperwork (all the way from our K1 application.)

Just a little note though for K1 filers from the PH, make sure that your vaccination list from St. Luke's has checked COMPLETED. Mine didn't have one. My IO had to manually double check all of our documents just to verify that I did receive all necessary vaccines. In the beginning she wanted us to get a civil surgeon to confirm everything but in the end, after thoroughly checking my medicals (also, because I am currently pregnant, she said I won't be able to receive the vaccines anyway), she said she's accepting everything as OK!

The only documents we had were photos together and my medical docs re my pregnancy. And then she said everything was good, and she handed us a letter explaining now that we are CR1 and how to renew it in 2 years.

Goodluck everybody!
