My fiancee is going through Guangzhou consulate.

Are there other Iranian nationals that went through consulates that aren't the normal ones for Iranians (Ankara et al.)?

We are wondering about the Iranian police certificate. State Department website says one thing and the consulate says another. She has applied a few months ago but the document is missing in action and who knows when it will show up.

Any ideas?

Hi. My husband went through the US Consulate in Montreal, Canada. Don't worry about the Iranian police certificate. I just made sure he had a print out of what the State Department says about the Iranian police certificate in the Reciprocity schedule. It wasn't an issue at all and never came up. Hopefully this wasn't an issue for you and the interview went well. :)

September 21, 2016 - Mailed passport to Consulate

September 22, 2016 - Passport delivered to US Consulate mail facility

September 26, 2016 - CEAC shows "update"

September 27, 2016 - CEAC shows "update"

October 5, 2016 - Emailed Consulate to verify receipt of passport and ask about turn around timeline - "will reply within 2 business days"

October 11, 2016 - CEAC shows "update" (likely due to email sent 10/05/2016)

October 27, 2016 - CEAC shows "update" & Received email from Consulate confirming passport was received on 9/26/2016 and to allow 8 weeks for processing.

November 17, 2016 - CEAC shows "update" in the morning - still Administrative Processing.

November 17, 2016 around noon - CEAC shows "ISSUED".

Hey there.

They actually made a big deal of the Iranian Police Certificate. We did print the reciprocity page but they completely ignored that they are not required and chose to focus on the fact that they are available.

After the interview we quickly sent a follow up email explaining the situation to which they responded telling us to send in documented evidence of attempts to obtain the document (she applied in June and has been trying to get it ever since!).

Now our status has changed and it looks like we will be seeing an issued status here soon!
