Ok. I'm still really new to this forum so I really apologize that this isn't the right place for this kind of question, but I really do need some assistance and help. It's really hard to find any reliable information (or people friendly enough to answer) online.

Here's the situation I'm facing:

My fiancee is Indonesian and I am American. She has a friend that is also Indonesian, and that friend married a German. He traveled to Singapore to marry her (since it's so close and Singapore has international recognition of marriage.) They are happily living together in Indonesia and it made me and my fiancee think that it would be easier for her and I to be together for me to fly to Singapore, marry her and stay with her in Indonesia.

Eventually, we would come back to the USA (I need to figure out the visa stuff for Indonesia so I can work there) but she has her own place there, etc. But what would I have to do to get her to the United States after her and I are legally married?

Is this even possible to do? Would I legally be allowed to stay there by my US passport for the marriage and do what my fiancee's friends did?

I really don't want to have to wait a whole year with the K-1 Visa (the financial part) to stay here and wait and wait. If I'm able to go there and be with her and start our new life, THEN worry about getting her here, I'd rather do that.

Once again, I'm sorry. But I'm really lost on all of this stuff.

Thanks ahead of time, guys.

Eventually, we would come back to the USA (I need to figure out the visa stuff for Indonesia so I can work there) but she has her own place there, etc. But what would I have to do to get her to the United States after her and I are legally married? If you got married to her, you would not be eligible for the K1 Fiancee visa, but you could file for a CR1 Spouse Visa.

Is this even possible to do? Would I legally be allowed to stay there by my US passport for the marriage and do what my fiancee's friends did? You would have to check Indonesian immigration/visa processes. This site is for US Immigration processes.

I really don't want to have to wait a whole year with the K-1 Visa (the financial part) to stay here and wait and wait. If I'm able to go there and be with her and start our new life, THEN worry about getting her here, I'd rather do that.

You are going to have to parse out the difference between your immigrating to Indonesia and the rules there, the laws for marriage in Singapore, and the laws for immigrating to the US as a spouse of a USC. All three different, separate things.

AOS for my husband

Have you met in person yet? Firstly, I would go to Indonesia for a month or so (if you can get that much time off work) and see how you like it and whether you could face living there. Often these big plans of moving to another country very different to one's own require a lot more thought and mental preparation than people realise. I have lived in China and also was sent to India for several months with my work. To say life is different there is putting it mildly. Added to that a new relationship also, it can be very stressful.

I wish you luck. This site has a lot of useful resource for bringing your fiancé or wife into the USA. You will need to do a bit more research to find a site to help with the procedures for moving to Indonesia.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!
