Goodmorning..Here is my story..

In August 2014 I met my boyfriend who lives in the USA..He is American. I am a permanent resident in Canada sinds 1986..(i am a Dutch citizen)

We live 30 miles from eachother..with a border in between.

I have a great job in Canada and would like to continue my employment in Canada..We want to get married so I can live inthe USA..I have an ESTA permit..so its easier to travel to USA 2 or 3 times a week..

I would like to know if..once we are married and apply for residency for me. Can i continue to work in Canada and live in the USA..

Thx in Advance

Being permanently resident in two countries at the same time might obviously cause issues.

I suppose the simple answer is you can, until you can not.

Citizenship of both countries is the obvious solution. But not quick.

You cannot live in the USA on ESTA; after you marry, you'd a[[;y for the CR-1 visa, which takes about 14 months to process. During that time, you can use ESTA to visit your husband , but you cannot live or work in the USA,.

I think the netherlands have changed their stance on dual citizenship, you may want to check it out.
