I'm wonder whether 'should they?' means God's opened the question up for a public debate.

In many practice of Theravada Buddhism (Derivative of Buddhism practiced mainly in Indo-China regions), the person born to such illness was the consequence of punishment from the Gods, and Goddesses. They are re-incarnated to such bodies to serve their punishment that happened in a prior life.

The road to enlightenment is my own heaven. I create my own heaven. No one can make that heaven of mines.

That's also true for many Hindu schools of thought. I like to ask, what about people who are born 'normal' and then develop retardation due to a disease like meningitis? Clearly, they were reincarnated as normal people with normal minds ... but then tragedy strikes. Let's assume that's karmic, though. What about the fact that the very same disease in an American or German child is usually cured with no after effects but an Indian or African child is more likely to end up retarded as a result?

Are what we know as 'white people' today just people who sinned less in previous lives?

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I personally think that a poll questioning if what God does is fair is just silly. Who are we to voice our opinions? What are ya gonna do if you don't like what He does, form a picket line and strike????

Pretty much... but going by the Old Testament that sort of thing never ended well...

God always seemed a little petty back then, punishing people en-masse like a child shaking an antfarm

Gupt,

Without medical technology, western populace would've died more often. I have not seen many disabled Africans or Indians.

Religion is flawed. It's designed to bring a way of finding peace to one's mind that after death, their life is secure and remains eternal. It's designed to bring people courage upon death. It's not a matter of influencing people.

Some would say, "No" religion is not that. It's explains how the Universe was created, how humans was created. In my eyes, religion seems to create more conflict with the world instead of letting people find truths. Some people prefer to be lied to instead of finding the truth. They would feel better being lied to. I like to look for truth, if there's a God or Gods, the Bible is not the truth. And, it was translated multiple times even. I'm not a follower of religion, but, I respect people for their candor in trying to convert me. However, if there's no proof there's no belief. Everyone should interpret their own religions in their ways as long as there peace. The negativity we receive nowadays, " It's never going to happen," " Unrealistic," "I don't believe there exist a God," etc...Makes each and everyone of us fools to fight each other on what is real, and what is fake. Everyone must think positively about their own truths! What does it mean to be civil? Yeah, right! Like who knows if everyone here keep talking about their own religion is right.

Unreal. How many more of these can we start?

Here's one I've always wanted to know the answer to. Say you live in a part of the world where Christianity is completely unavailable to you. At no point in your lifetime did you hear the story of Christ. You lived a normal life for your culture. You were a 'good' person who treated others well and you committed no atrocities in your lifetime. When you die, are you barred from heaven? Are you eternally damned? Will you rot in flames simply because you never had the opportunity to learn the story of salvation?

I thought Jesus had come to free us from the times of the old testament. so, if that is the case, why is the old testament still relevant to us today? why are some christians still totally ignoring anything Jesus said? seems to me that religion is being bent towards someone's needs.

That's a great question...

A person's judgment is based upon what they know about what God requires.

Romans chapter one says this:

Romans 1:19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

Romans 1:21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful

Every human being is "hardwired" by their creator with a knowledge of Him. He places this knowledge "In them", Romans 1:19 says. God has "Shown it to them", then the next verse shows how God has showed it to them..."Through the things that are made", Creation is the testimony, the proof that God exists, and every human being knows this, God says. The next verse says that we know that God exists throught the things He created, but not all people will acknowledge this or will even be thankful to Him for what He has done.

We make up all kinnds of excuses for why we "Say" we don't believe God exists, the most popular un spoken reason is that people just love their sin more that they love God, so they will not turn from it to God so that they can be saved. That is what THE BIBLE SAYS, not me so don't get mad at me.

So, that person in the Deepest, Darkest part of the world that has never heard about Jesus Christ is still accountable to God for what they do know, that God does exist, because He hardwired them with this knowledge of Himself. And on that day that this person stands befofe God and says "But I didnt't know", The Lord will show them this part that He placed inside them where they knew that He existed, but chose to ignore or deny that He does exist.

When a person who has not ever heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ responds to the inner knowledge of God and searches for the true and living God, He responds by giving them more knowledge of Himself.

There have been documented cases where missionaries have gone into these dark isolated parts of the world. They took years to learn the language, then translated the Bible into that language for those people. In one particular case where the head of one of those tribes or people was told about Jesus Christ, the leader of that tribe said "Oh we already know about Him, we just didn't know His name was Jesus. We have been worshipping and serving Him for a long time."

Romans 2:14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves

This verse means that people, Gentiles who have no knowledge of God's law, instinctively follow and seek after God, then they become a law unto themselves. That is, the fact that all men know God, and have this knowledge built into them when they are made, is seen by those who know and follow God even though they never had a Bible or have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

But you know what God requires now, so you are accountable for what you do with that knowledge.

Brother Rob,

I have a question for you after you answer other members questions first.

My question is, are you pre-trib, mid-trib, or post- trib ? I'm somewhat confused in this area , but I will say I am not post-trib.

Thanks.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I thought Jesus had come to free us from the times of the old testament. so, if that is the case, why is the old testament still relevant to us today? why are some christians still totally ignoring anything Jesus said? seems to me that religion is being bent towards someone's needs.

Jesus said it like this:

Matthew 5:18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Matthew 5:17 ¶ “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill

John 5:39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

The point that Jesus makes here is that the Old Testament did not pass away, Jesus is the fulfillment of all the Old Testament prophecies about the coming of the Son of God, He fulfilled all 300 plus of those prophecies perfectly in every detail, and only Jesus in all of history did this.

In all the types and picturres of the Old Testament, Jesus fulfilled those. The pictures of what a sacrifice for sins means, the picture of Gods love, Jesus displayed, the picture of what God required in the Old Testament, Jesus became the living example of in the New Testament.

For the Christian, the things that people went through, the trials, the heart aches, the battles they endured and fought in the Old Testament, are writen for an example for believers today, so that we might have hope and encouragement. All the people in Hebrews 11 New Testament) that are held up as Great men and women of faith, were liars, deceivers, people who made lots of mistakes, people who failed God over and over, yet continued to trust Him, and because they trusted the Lord and kept believing Him even despite their own failures, they are spoken of as Great people of faith.

That really encourages me because I make so many mistakes in my own life. Even after 32 years of knowing Jesus, I still fall flat on my face everyday. But He is always kind and forgiving to me and tells me to get back up and keep trying, because He still loves me. How does He speak these things to me? By the way He spoke, worked and acted through those people in the Old Testament that also failed so many times and how God still loved them, and was very patient with them.

So to me, the Old Testament is a wonderful treasure of examples of real people who went through real struggle just like me, that I gain great strenghth and hope from.

Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
