U.S. citizen filing for a spouse : wait time?

Hello,

I'm a US citizen and petitioned for my wife I-485 and I-130 received by USCIS on March 25, 2016

I go to check the status of the application online and it says

"As of May 11, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number XXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice."

We live in New York City and we wonder that's the current wait time for our interview?

On 30th June 2016 the NYC field office was processing I-485s filed on or before 10th October 2015, so about an 8 month lead time. Add 8 months on to the date you filed your I-485 and expect to hear something around that time as to an interview date.

The NYC field office is traditionally one of the most backlogged in the country due to the high immigrant population.

Given that you filed in March, I'd expect to hear something by November.
