that is how i feel, if you don't push them a little bit harder, they just fool around, nothing but tell you to wait, i saw few people they do got approved on the phone by tier 2 officer. you need to show your angry for this bad slow service

No, she did not file an inquiry.

I just asked if my case was approved. Several people in this forum have tried calling Nebraska SC and discovered that their case had been approved even though the website had not been updated.

I tried filing an inquiry though the website but was not given permission because my "petition is currently within the posted processing times."

Is there a way to call Nebraska SC directly?

Oh I'm sorry, I realize I called the National Customer Service Center (NCSC): +1-800-375-5283

I don't think there is a way to contact the Nebraska SC directly (I could not find it).

Hi everyone,

I just found this website! Its great!

My wife and I filed the I-130 petition Aug 25th!

We received USCIS acceptance confirmation on Aug 31t!

and the last time I checked the status on USCIS website it says ;On March 22, 2017, we sent your case, to the Department of State for visa processing!

What happens now? What is the next step? I've read is different websites that now we have to wait for about two weeks and the expecting a notification from NVC! Is that right so?

I hope us all get this process done soon ;)

Congratulations!

You would need to wait until you hear from the NVC regarding your case number & invoice number.. which could take 8-10 days from the time, NVC received your case... Once you have it and have not hired a lawyer continue with the following steps..

1. Complete and submit DS-261. (You can do this right after you are able to login)

2. Pay AOS fees when it's available. (This usually takes 2-3 days)

3. Wait for AOS fees status to become "PAID" and then IV fees to be invoiced. ("PAID" status takes around 2-3 days and then IV invoice may take up to 1 week, but usually 2-3 days)

4. Pay IV fees when available.

5. Complete and submit DS-260 when it's available and send both AOS and IV package with all face-sheets in one package. ( You can only submit DS-260 after IV fees becomes "PAID" which again takes 2-3 days)

Your 11 week wait time will only start once NVC has received both, your documents and DS-260.

Got confirmation my case was received Aug 29. No update yet. Gonna call them later today and see what the story is.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was a hangup for me personally. Partner is trans so there are papers with two different names on them, though I did explain that on the cover letter. Also her nationality is Danish but we've been in Ireland for the past five years. Dunno if those will cause trip ups but I'll report back.

on the bright side, we are in the 8th month already, if our petitions are not finished processing by the 9th month, that means they are not keeping their word.

Have you guys reached out to either your senator or congressperson? You guy's aren't technically out of normal processing time, but it might be worth starting a congressional inquiry, since these things take time. It might help shake things up.

I want to keep it as my last resource. I made an appointment at the local office the other day via infopass and found that my case is under processing - background check at the FBI to be precise. I read that filing a congressional inquiry would result in the same feedback, so I am a bit discourage to contact them at this point.
