Congratulations!! it seems they're working backwards anyway am happy for you, good luck on your next step!!:jest:

I sure hope you get there soon. I know what it feels like to be waiting and wondering...so much so that I've re-checked a few times just to make sure it wasn't a dream.

Hello Guys i am so excited. I got an update last nite that my case has been sent to the Department of State on the 24th of March, 2017 for visa processing. I was so surprised cos i have been expecting an Approval when i check my status. But rather saw this. I am so happy and thank God that finally my status changed. Something great is coming in for everyone. Please how long will it take for me to hear from the Department of State? And what happens now?

Congratulations! See the guide available here.

Basically, the following will happen --

  1. It will take anywhere from 2-4 weeks for your application to arrive at the NVC (i.e., Dept. of State). You can and should call them regularly after about 1-2 weeks. Keep asking if your case arrived. When it does you can ask for your CASE NUMBER and your INVOICE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. You can also give your email address to them at that time to ensure that all future communications will happen over email.
  2. After a few days the application DS-261 will become available online, go ahead and fill it out.
  3. A few days later you'll be able to pay the AOS fee and the IV fees, as well as fill out the DS-260 form online.
  4. Gather up all the materials for the AOS and IV packages and mail it (see the above link for full details).
  5. Keep calling the NVC to see when you're packages are received (i.e., you SCAN date).
  6. After another 6-10 weeks, you can start calling again to see if your application has been approved.
  7. You're application will finally be approved and will then be forwarded to your embassy. You can call again to figure out when you've been assigned an interview (may take up to 1-2 months to receive an appointment).

Good luck!

August 23 here.

My husband had phoned uscis last week. They told him to call again if we haven't got any update in a month.

Just joked with my husband saying that they might have thrown our file into a black hole...XDD

Hopefully some good news arrive this week.

It has to be tough as you see September approvals and according to the website they can't update you only what the website says! It is so frustrating and confusing how some get approved and others don't when they see their date pass! Hang in there! Praying for all and that Nebraska catches up!!!!
