Hello,

I received my I-797C which mentions my priority date. But is there a difference between I-797 and I-797C? Is there any action required from my end? The letter mentions that I have to contact USCIS only if any of the particulars have changed or wrongly mentioned.

Thanks

AS

I think no difference.

I had the same and read it as Form 797 .. forms and fees change.

Please check update: https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/previous-editions-forms-accepted-until-feb-21-2017-must-include-new-fees

It would be really **** to be USD$20 short and get a bounce letter asking for money and delaying your case after the "great wait of Nebraska!"

I'm right there with you guys, having got NOA1 from Nebraska on 8/24. I'm guessing NOA2 will be in January.

I imagine you guys are checking for updates daily on the USCIS website, just like we are, lol.

In the case of an RFE, I wonder if such notification comes by mail only or if you see it on the USCIS page too?

What else is there to do but look up our cases, then change the last digits by a few thousand on the reference number hunting down the last I-130 processed, in fact we should invent a bingo card ....selecting the last numbers at random  (selecting numbers from 20,500 to 99,999 such as 55140, 60358)  to make the look-up more interesting and know others are behind us somewhere waiting just like us ... LOL

No, just new fees for new submissions after Dec 23rd ...... short of cash as our payments "fund" their work ..... we pay for our own hassle and pain .... yuk!

Fees quoted on old forms which can be accepted are wrong ..... so you need to check for forms post Dec 23rd:

Old form - new fee

New form - new fee

Hi again. Happy new year! Just an update..

We got approved last November 21, 2016 and received the I-767 from mail last November 28, 2016. My husband was calling them since December and today NVC just received our case and he was adviced that they can give us the new case and invoice numbers in two weeks from today. My question, is this normal? I've seen others here doesn't take that much time like this. I don't understand.

Philippines get expedited in comparison to other countries, their process is different and well documented across visajourney. Not the fault of the person applying, simply a USCIS decision based on hardship and natural disasters which never changed apparently.

Wish them all luck, the process needs some "winners" :-)

It is normal, NVC may not have opened up its Dec caseload because of the holidays etc. It is usually 4 weeks to get anywhere but by jumping on the phone sometimes you get ahead by 2 weeks ..... when you wait months, the delay at the Embassy interview will get you back .... frustrating test of nerves and patience ..... :-)

And still most of us wait .... time to look at sunsets and stroll down to a cafe for coffee that I will miss when I go ......
