need help

i am from paksitan and my wife is in US(she is american citizen),, we got married 3 weeks back ,now we are planning to apply for visa(so i can get there and live together) ,could you ppl plz help us, to let us know what will be da best choice(K3, CR-1/I-R1 or any other) for us,what proofs or evidences we will have to present them for our marriage and we both from different religion(she is christian and i am muslim),my age is about 25 and my wife is 46, if religious and age difference really matters?

plz let us know what will be better for us and what we have to do,,

suggestions and advices will be really appreciated,

Either one will be fine. A K-3 is a little bit more expensive but in many cases it allows for the spouse to be in the US faster. Then after that he/she will have to file for change of status as well as work authorization. A CR-1/IR-1 is less costly and it allows for the spouse to come to the US without having to change status nor applying for a work permit since the permanent residency card arrives in about a month or so. The bad thing about it is that it could take longer than the K-3.

I would advise you to search for similar timelines to yours, look for cases that share the same service center as well as embassy since all embassies work in different ways. Once you do that, it would be easier to make a decision on which type of visa to file for.

07/06/09 - I-751 sent to CSC

08/14/09 - Biometrics

09/27/09 - Approved

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview
