Hi everyone,

I am just trying to complete my DS-160 and I'm having some trouble! Whenever I try to upload the photo on the final page, it says "uploaded successfully and passed checks", but on the next page it just jams and won't move on to the review section. I have a scanned passport photo that I am using, and I have tried from both Chrome and Internet Explorer. Is anyone else having similar issues? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I really want to get my form submitted!

Thank you,

Bryony

Yes, we were able to get past it by closing and re-opening the form with our Application ID. It allowed us to complete the form. We received our receipt.

Glad you were able to complete your form :) We've tried doing that about 5 times and still no luck :( Which browser did you use?

I'm having the exact same problem... tried Chrome, IE and FF to no avail.

I was able to get past the photo bit by selecting 'confirm photo' at the side instead of the 'Next: Review' at the bottom, which caught me in an endless loop on the photo page.

After the Review, I wasn't able to continue to the signing page as the option was greyed out. I actually cheated by manually enabling the button myself to see if that worked and I managed to get to the signing page... but then I wasn't able to sign (clicking the button just brought me to the DS-160 front page).

I don't suppose anyone has spoken to someone or has a method to get around this yet?

Hey Guys,

Having the same issue! Very frustrating, you can skip the photo by clicking 'confirm photo' on the side. My issue is now having reviewed it, I cant 'sign and submit', any help would be amazing right now! I've tried opening and shutting, changing my location then changing it back, saves and changes.......... but still the grayed out box.

Im guessing as a few people are having the same issue, it must be a problem their end, so there's a little comfort in that right?

Hey, I had the same issue in Firefox (Mac). I found that if I left anything for a few minutes (i.e. to look something up) it would kick me out of the "session". Try the steps below.

1. Make sure everything you need (information, photos etc.) is at your fingertips or add everything to another doc so you can easily cut and paste from that doc to the form.

2. Search Google for "how to remove cookies from Firefox" (or whatever your browser is) and remove ALL cookies for "ceac.state.gov" (you will have to search for that term once you are in the remove cookies window). If that proves too difficult then just select "Remove ALL cookies".

3. Although not necessary you may clear your browser cache too.

4. You will have to start again. Anything you previously entered has probably been lost as you found out when you tried to log back in. So basically just start afresh. You are kind of up against a clock but DON'T RUSH as you do not want mistakes. There is some type of timeout set and I am guessing that you my have about 60 seconds between each question.

After about 3 attempts I figured it out and this is what worked for me so I hope it helps someone else.

PS Not an expert but trying to upload a photo might also make the system timeout so if that happens then I would just skip it and take your pic to the interview as I did. It definitely wasn't an issue for them.

Good luck!

Hooray, I was able to submit using lplplpx3's method too. Thanks so much.

The photo even worked this time around.

I should have known something was weird about that timeout when I had to shut the entire window to be able to log back in properly.... I wonder if I should let them know. I'm sure some people will on Monday.
