So would you say that a couple with no children are not a genuine couple? My husband and I don't have any children. Are you suggesting our marriage is not genuine? Of course not! So that's what we mean by a child together is not "proof" that the marriage is genuine. There is a lot more to a successful, genuine marriage then procreation. Hence you need to provide a variety of forms of evidence.

I never said you don't have a bonafide marriage because you don't have children together. I'm just stating that USCIS states the couple having a child together showing a birth certificate is strong evidence of a bonafide relationship.

That's absolutely a government website and I completely believe everything written there....:rolleyes:

I've seen people, ON THIS FORUM, without children, going through Ghana, which is VERY difficult, the first time. Many times. Many people also are denied and reaffirmed. Having a child does not guarantee a visa. It can mean your relationship is bona fide if you provide other evidence as well. It also can mean someone is really good at scamming.

Some people have no children. Some people cannot have children. Just because everyone's bits work and they have unprotected intercourse, does not mean they get to jump ahead of the line. C'est la vie.

It's not my policy. Research it yourself. Lawyers will tell you the same thing. I don't have to prove anything to anyone.

Before I joined here I remember reading a lawyer saying that a man was trying to get a visa through his wife and was denied. They became pregnant and the lawyer presented that to the uscis and they changed their minds and gave the man a visa

It can happen and it is proof of a bonafide marriage

Some people don't have kids or want kids that doesn't mean the marriage is not legit either

I'm married and pregnant a USC still aboard and it's tough on me every single day I just hope and pray we get his visa soon I can't imagine not being in my country when my water breaks or having my child here

We sure have one heck of a story to tell our child when he's older

Op I'm sorry what you're going through I hope it's gets easier for your family I too am going through a high fraud country it's not easy at all

Best of lucky to you

I love my husband ?‍?‍?

Yes it is proof of bonafide marriage so im ignoring these people. I did give birth to my son alone here in Maryland. But i have to say the hospital was amazing which made it easier being without my husband. Even though my husband is not here my little boy makes its bearable. I pray you get through the process quickly so you guys can be reunited.

From what I understand you can add your husband to the birth certificate with or without him there. I haven't left my husband yet I'm still here doing dcf but it's not easy at all and the hospitals aren't the best but I'm lucky to at least have him with me everyday

Visa process and children seems to be a big debate on here but for proof of a bonafide marriage it simple states you can use a common child's birth certificate it's actually before affidavits of knowledge of relationship and pictures for evidence so I'm sure the uscis would except that and consider it a real marriage but a lot of people don't see it like that for whatever reason

Yes. In the state of maryland if you are legally married the father can be put on the birth certificate automatically. Having a child is a big deal. I believe most people would not have children with someone they dont love. Yes you may find a small percentage of rachet people doing such things. But most people are not having kids for a visa.

I completely agree with you even if 2 people aren't married why have kids if you weren't in love ?? Granted I'm sure it happens but not for green card purposes. Even people who can't have kids there are options to adopt or surrogate if they really wanted to

I think their rationale is that although family unification is one of their goals, the family can also be unified by the USC spouse moving to the immigrant's country and there would be no delays that way.

Why would there be no delays for a USC to move to the immigrant's country? Not the case for a USC wanting to immigrate to Australia. :)

What are you talking about? A very high rate of couples going through the Ghana embassy are denied and sent back to USCiS to be revoked. That embassy has a high denial rate. In 2011 Ghana had almost a 60% denial rate. I'm sure today is higher. Please stick to the facts. Thank you.

Because a) accidents do happen even when taking precautions, b) people are stupid, and c) people can be that manipulative. Yes it does happen for green card purposes. Do not underestimate the power of living in what seems like a better country to someone. People will do anything sometimes include sell themselves, everything they have, take everything away from someone else, including their very life, to come to a country where they feel they can have a better life. People have killed, destroyed families, abandoned children to live on the streets, become slaves, all to come to the USA.

It doesn't make it right, it is what it is.

Accident?? Ahhhh nope not my child. I've known my husband for 3 years he was my best friend first before I came here. We talked about our family, having children for our future. Yes America is wonderful everyone wants to live the American Dream but that doesn't mean every potential immigrant is bad or has bad intentions. Not everyone one steals ,lies ,sells themselves to get to USA. Dr is a high fraud country but that doesn't mean everyone in dr is bad either same goes for every other country including USA(sad but true)

Besides the baby me and my husband have enough proof of a bonafide marriage so I'm not even worried about that

Being with my husband aboard is not easy at all but I'm doing it because I couldn't say goodbye to him thank god for dcf that probably made my decision 100x easier plus it's super fast ?

I love my husband ?‍?‍?
