Yes, the wait is the hardest part. The thing that helped get us through this was knowing it's only temporary...this waiting. Keeping busy with preparing my house helped too, as well as daily contact. Talking about what we wanted to do once he got here was another big thing. Being here helped a lot too, being with others who are journeying towards the same goal... having our beloved here for a lifetime. Best wishes. :)

Yes. Waiting and not knowing when it will be all over...

But we all have keep our chins up, prepare for the next step of the journey, take care of the relationship (which takes a lot more effort than if you are together) and hope the separation will be over soon. Because it will be over one day - and we will live happily ever after!

I'm a basket case during the goodbye thing. I'm a huge worry wart anyway, so worrying about his trip home, not knowing the next time he'll be over.. I'm just plain crazy when he leaves! Waiting is really tough too. Especially when you have a big hurdle ahead. Although I did notice the longer we were apart, in a way, it was easier. Definitely easier after the first week or so. Still miss him like crazy and can't wait for us to be in each others arms again, but the heart ache was easing? lol Just rambling I suppose, hope someone actually understands what I'm trying to say!

I have to agree. We don't think about this constantly because we both are self employed and working trying to make a buck..but I am already tired of waiting. I know , it has not been that long. I know I have a long wait ahead of me. Sometimes though, it seems intolerable. And it does feel like your life is on hold. Ok, Im blowing off steam. I just really really miss my fiance. We speak daily, but after a while, you really just want to hold hands and take this guy to your friends house to a bbq and laugh and watch the sunset. Hmmmm.....

Waiting for ....

Yes, waiting is hard, but it is also a time of excitement and anticipation. I love texting and our nightly phone calls. There are classes I'm cramming at night now so I'll be at the top of my pay scale before she arrives, it's all working out really well. I love her and I believe there is a purpose to our waiting, so I am trying to make the most of it. It's been amazing to me how much our relationship has deepened and strengthened during the months we have been separated and I'm certain it will strengthen our relationship when we are married.

Ooh, saying goodbye is definitely worse for me! This last time was particularly bad because he came with me to the airport, and we were anticipating that I would check in for my flight and then spend a while with him until I went through security. But they were screening people at the doors to the airport, so we had to say goodbye really quickly! It was awful, and I burst out crying, was a complete mess, and set off the metal detector like three times before I thought to take off my jewelery.

But waiting is no fun, either. I'm just hoping that everything goes smoothly with this process and that the embassy in Tanzania has their act together. I want to see him SOON! My waiting anxiety is amplified by the fact that I'm currently unemployed and will make a shitty sponsor unless I find a job soon. Waiting to hear back from potential employers, waiting to hear back from the government... oh, so much fun!

Waiting is definitely the worst part but it helps to think that it won't be that long and it will come to an end and we will be together for good. As for saying goodbye during visits, it was harder for me the first time because we didn't get to enjoy each other that much (only 12 days visit). The second visit, it was easier to part because we've spent 3 wonderful weeks together while working on our packet. Despite all the hardships and loneliness we're going through at the moment, we always find ways to make each other assured of our love. Daily phone calls and letters do help!

I am sorry, I haven't posted in a few days....I just read the threads....

But you know what makes me wonder??? Why do always the Vermont people complain about the waiting and start new threads because of that???

You guys go through it within a heartbeat and we (CSC, TSC & NSC filers) have to wait MONTHS before we even get a touch...not talking about the NOA2.

Maybe I am just soooo frustrated, but it's kinda annoying to me!!!

I would love, if Vermont filers would have their own forum, so we others wouldn't have to read about the NOA2's that came by snail mail faster than the NOA1.

It's just not fair, that people who pay the same fee as we others, get such a better treatment!

What did they do, to be with their loved ones quicker than the rest of us?

The system sucks here BIG TIME!!!!!

Don't mind me...having a bad time lately and just needed to get that off of my chest!

I know what you mean, it seems like all the threads lately regarding waiting have come from VSC filers. I am kicking myself now...I should have filed this last year while I was still in college in NY, but now I am in NM and it really sucks. Especially as my fiance and I have never spent more than a couple months apart since we've been together, and now I don't know how long it's going to take before I see him again. His last visit was in February, and I'm already a miserable mess without him.

I think you've voiced what many of us feel, Diana, so don't apologize for that.

The only thing I will say is that VSC filers can't help where they live anymore than we can, nor can they help that the VSC is so damn fast.

That said, it is incredibly tough to watch them wonder where the NOA2 is after 2 weeks have gone by. I almost wonder if sub forums for the K1 forum (VSC and CSC) would be a good idea. Although I do remember a time where VJ wasn't as focused on timelines, and who filed what when and where. I suspect the amount of anxiety and ulcers among members was much lower then as well.

I think having the timelines is good for raw data, but as we've found out (first hand myself!), there are ALWAYS exceptions to the rule and those exceptions then start to feel incredibly anxious and stressed out - unnecessarily so, in my opinion. VJ is a small percentage of the overall case load at CSC - but it sure doesn't feel that way when you watch everyone whiz past you - and it certainly doesn't help your frustration when VSCers complain after 2 weeks of no touches.

I've never felt so much that VJ is a blessing and a curse as I felt in the last few weeks. And I think that is unfortunate.
