Marriage in Algeria

What documents do i need to marry in Algeria? If I'm a us citizen. Please help

within 90 days of marriage you need to get a criminal investigation reports (they expire in 90 days)

need to take along with birth certificate

birth certificates of any children

if ever married, divorce or death notice of former spouse

statement of income from employer, or copy from IRS of last year's tax returns

you will need copy of the biography page of passport

all these will be translated into Arabic after you get there

it takes quite a while to get the ok to marry in algeria and many meet in Tunisia and marry (about 5 days)

medical exam will be done in Algeria

Did they ask you for a residency certificate? Because when i called they told me to translate my documents to French?

Much easier and faster to get married in Tunesia. My Algerian husband told me it would take 3 months to get married in Algeria and I would need to some twice. We married in Tunesia in less then a week

Birth certificate, any divorce paper, and other legal name change papers, you need to have a medical exam done there, and you need to get a certificate from the US embassy in Tunis showing you are free to marry. And all papers need to be in french

It's like 4 months to marry there. We went to Tunisia was done in 10 days..

Also if you marry in tunisia, you have to register at algerian embassy there after you're married so you can do the family book which algerians do. They will hand him everything to bring back to algeria to register it
