Original Documents missing

Dear VJ members,

First of all I would like to thanks VJ member for their support and help that made it easy for me to get K1 visa. I would like to once again extend my gratitude to all of the VJ member.

Yesterday I got K1 visa but there is some documents that I didnt get it like my original birth certificate, police certificate etc. Is it in the sealed package which I will get at port of entry (US) from Immigration officer? Or should i contact embassy to inquire about that?

The sealed package should come to you with your passport and visa. You turn it over at POE. You don't get to keep it or anything inside it.

The documents inside the package may be what you're looking for. You can ask the embassy if they haven't already supplied your package, else you may need to make a request after you POE.

You may never get those documents back - usually, you submit copies and just show them the real versions in person, that they return on the spot.

You can also order a new birth certificate, etc. from the body that holds them (local records office, whatever, depending on country).

File this after you give your package to USCIS at POE. But definitely a good idea to get new originals while you can before you travel.
