2 years of filing AOS and no interview or green card yet...

We filed my husband's AOS 2 years ago and still no interview or green card yet. We have contacted the USCIS, the senator, and the ombudsman and all we get it's in background checks. We even made an Info status and nothing. I have seen so many cases get approved within months, but here are 2 years later and still waiting for at least an interview. This is very, very frustrating...Does anyone think that hiring a lawyer at this stage will help us?

If you hire a lawyer, you could look into having them file a mandamus. It's pretty much filing a lawsuit to force USCIS to make a decision on your petition because it's been pending for a considerable period of time.

Hi,

I see you guys live in Charlotte, NC. I highly suggest you use an attorney at this point. The best one I would suggest is actually in your backyard in Rock Hill, SC. Schusterman Law Firm, PA. 803-325-7788 is the office number. You should definitely pursue this with the attorney at this point since it is going on for two years and a lot is at stake.
