Hi, i haven't experienced long wait for FBI namecheck. As they say, FBI name check usually about issues on same-name being used, terrorist name, more importantly if you have been convicted of any crimes. Although i've seen a couple gone thru FBI namecheck in a long waiting, but it's obviously Phils. being invaded by Spaniards before, so most of us, like me for example having a spanish surname. And well-known we have Christian-Catholic-Muslim-other religion ...in our country.

I'm Filipino and I did not have any problems with the FBI name check. Although my maiden name is of Spanish origin, I guess my first name was rare enough for it not to come up with similar hits.

My husband isn't Filipino (he's Canadian) but I'm wondering if being from the Phils has any basis as far as name check goes. It seems that other countries are scrutinised just as heavily. We are on day 266 right now. *sigh*

if you have a namehit you will get stuck. whether you are filipino, british, moroccan, etc. matters not if your name does not yield a hit.

No problem with my filipino name. My Biometrics was 3/09/07. Interview was 4/25/07 about a little more than a month and I was approved with no problem. It just depends on your name. I was worried about the name check/background check, but apparently I was ok. So no waiting. . .

do they check FBI NAMECHECK WHEN THE CASE STILL AT USCIS OR WHEN AT NVC

The name check we're referring to here is for AOS. Mostly what they look at before approving the visa is the police record and such. The more intense check of the beneficiary is done during AOS, referred to as name check. :)
